Just wondering what version of the Bible do you read.I
have been reading the NIV in the Life Application Study
Bible. This version really speaks to me and is easy for me
to understand the scriptures better.I really like study bibles
as sometimes the notes contained give me a better method
to understand the word when I get to a place that I need a
little more guidance from.I have read many other versions
of the word but this one is the best for me for study. We are
blessed to have so many good versions when many people
in the world are not even allowed to own a bible and our
nation takes it for granted.Just to let you guys and women
know that I really appreciate this online fellowship that we
have.Even thou most of us will never meet in person we do
meet together in the spirit of our writings.God Bless! Mike
We have the New Jerusalem Bible, published in 1985 which has lots of notes and explanations with cross references. I really like it for that. We also have a Chumash which is the Bible used for services in the synagogue. It has the Torah and the Haf-Torahs. The neat thing is all the explanations and cross references. It also has the Hebrew and English right next to each other. We don't read Hebrew but it would be neat to learn someday.

remember, the commentaries are written by man and are not inspired by God..
I don't know if we can be sure what is inspired by God and what is not. If yougo to church and what the pastor says is not inspired by God, what is the point of listening?

Yes, there are pastors that are not anointed of God and preach a different gospel than what Jesus preached..but if you spend time reading and studying your bible you will be able to discern false teachers and if you do get away from that man immediately..in my lifetime i have heard dozens of preachers preach the true gospel without any variance..so don't take it for granted that all preachers are not called by God because most are and they preach thus saith the Lord.
what to you is thethe true gospel?

That's like saying you doubt anything that the Bible Say's? No matter who you hear and where you goit's always going to be doubt to you.
The church my family and Iattend, my pastor always says "Open Your Bibles To Chapter and Verse, etc.,etc.,etc....." when he is preaching! We don't want to knowhis opinions, we want to hear what the bible has to say!!
