Default Sinful natures.... (Which one is yours?)

If you everget into oneof these (God knows I have) sinful natures, feel free to remember this scripture:

Life by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-21)

16So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It says the Spirit of God can helpcontrol the response of emotions and actions. All we need is the desire to let Him have control. We need the self control of his Holy Spirit. This isn't easy (Iwill be the firstto admit that), but it is possibleandI find hope in knowing that.

Commentary:

5:18 Those who are Spirit-led are not under the law. This verse might be understood in two ways: Led by the Spirit is a description of all Christians. Therefore, no Christians are under the law; they are not depending on self-effort. It is the Spirit who is resisting the motions of evil within them, not they themselves. Also, to be led by the Spirit means to be lifted above the flesh and to be occupied with the Lord. When one is so occupied, he is not thinking of the law or the flesh. The Spirit of God does not lead people to look to the law as a means of justification. Rather, He points them to the risen Christ as the only ground of acceptance before God.

18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

Reading the verse above from your quote..so if one is not led by the Spirit ..what kind of law is he under?

Texas, I believe he is referring also to the Law of Sin and Death..He later speaks in that same context that "Those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."

The question is asked, "sinful natures....(which one is yours?)
Is there more than one sinful nature?

Here is the scripture given, see what it says:

and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. (singular)

17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit (singular)

and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. (singular)

19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious (singular)

Does the scripture say that there are more than one sinful nature?
