RE: is there truth to this
Thank you all for replying
One wonders how the wise men connected the star with the birth of the King of the Jews in Judea..My view is that the Jews who were carried away into captivity when the southern kingdom fell were settle in Babylon, which later was conquered by the Persians. Many of the Jews anticipated the time God would send the Messiah. Possibly, the wise men had heard of their Messianic hopes...
I had just never heard of this,,,,,,, Jewish legends say that Daniel himself, as an official of the Persian government, founded this order of Magi (wise men), and instructed them to watch for the Messiah through the generations,,,,,,,,,,,,Before........so I thought I would get you all's input..
I do find it interesting that these Gentile wise men were the first tocome desireing sincere worship and presenting gifts fit for a King,, reminding me of (Romans 12:1-2)And how we should bring our best gifts and worship.
Then I came across Luke 2:25-32 What a great relationship Simeon must have had with God...but verse 32 is what catch my eye,
32."a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."
A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles. The amazing thing about Simeon's prophecy is that it show that this light is for the Gentiles also The salvation of Jesus began with Israel, but was ALWAYS to be extended beyond Israel.. Too Me A Gentile,,,,,,,Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Read Gods Word, And Read it More Often ...Amen
