Question for knowledge.

When I entitle a thread like 'Question for knowledge' it's because I really am seeking an answer for myself.It's not a trick question.

Ok , while studying God's Word this morning..I ran across this verse.

Matt. 16: 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Does anyone know what Barjona means ?...I didn't think they had last names in those days. By the way ..I'm taking my Christian mentor's advice back in 1976..Stay in the gospels till you see Jesus's feet walking on the pages.

Anytime you see Bar--whatever , it is referring to the son of... Barabbas literally means the son of my father, which shows wha tkind of person that he was--a smartelic who wouldn't answeer staright when asked what his name was!![&:]
