Default What's your perspective..Big Brother

Ok I'll admit it..I've watched quite a few episodes of Big Brother this season. (hey I'm nursing an injury).

2 Of the remaining house guests are deeply religious (?). They pray for everything, then question why didn't God let me be Head of Household or Get that Veto Vote. Then they just figure he has deeper plans and he will work it out.

Is this all God has to do on Tues, Thurs, and Sunday nights..control the Big Brother Outcome? Should we pray for every detail in our lives?

I know he's not a credit card to pull out when you need him..but should one pray that my steak doesn't get overcooked..you know??

Like I would like to win the lottery, but I'd never pray for it. Shed some light on this for me.

Some have very odd priorities when it comes to prayer...

On another note, I'd just let people pray for what they like. Let Jesus decide if he is too busy on Tue, Thur, and Sunday.

Yes... that way you are in constant communication with God. Also I know scripture backs it up when the word says pray for everything. Someone will find it, if not, I will find it.

I think some people get prayer confused with wishing. God is not a genie, He is way better than that.

[/align]Here is some scripture to look at:

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him" (1 John 5:14-15).

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
"When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures" (James 4:3).

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it" (John 14:13-14).
