I wastaught growing up that marriage should be with a person of the same race. Did God put this rule on us or did religion put this rule on us?

If in your beliefs its ok for different races to marry, how would you feel if it were your son or daughter, grandson or grandaughter? Would they have your blessing?

What are your thoughts on this?

I don't think God has put this rule upon us and I'm not sure that religion has either although there are some religions or sects that might. I personally think it is okay for different races to marry and that 2 people should know when they are in love and ready to commit to each other before God. If my sons wanted to marry a girl of a different race, I would be far more concerned that they were marrying a good girl who would make them happy and not that concerned about the girl's race or nationality.

I was taught racism from my (step) father from a early age.But im glad i didnt learn my lessons well .He went to his grave not long ago a admited
racist & i dont know why he was the way he was. I dont know these relgious rules on race you speak of.

I think we are all gods children & creation ,not just some of us.It dosnt matter to me what race my family marrys etc.As long as its the human race

If you do any study of tribal movements in Europe/Asia, it would be impossible to find any human alive today who is NOT a mutt. For instance...France is named after the Franks, but there were Goths, Visigoths, Normans, Saxons, Gauls, Huns, and on and on. England is no different, she was invaded by everyone and their brother. Ireland, of course, suffered the same fate. North America saw much the same thing going on between the Native Americans (who are not trully native Americans, since they came from Asia). For instance, the Iroquis we quite fond of trundling south from New York (Finger Lakes region) to the Carolinas to beat up on the Cherokees. Along the way, the Iroquis would hang out with the Shawnee and Delawares (read as - sleeping with the Shawnee and Deleware women).

God is more interested in where our souls, what color is our soul? I think God is color blind.If that were the case God would have supposed that one race was superior to another.

I was raised against it ...but over time I'm getting more adjusted to it. Some of our frineds have children who are in mixed marriages. Personally, I don't judge them and always try to make them feel comfortable around me. I don't think it is a sin ...but they will have trouble down here in the south.[:-]

As far as being Biblically wrong, I don't think so. Moses took an Ethiopian woman.
My wife is a racial mixture . .Mexican, Indian, Jewish, white. Liz is pretty much considered Chicano. I myself would never marry a black woman . . .nor would I ever again marry a white woman, as I see them both as too spoiled in general. I guess I'm just prejudice.

I think you mean Anglo.Liz is Caucasian which is considered White Race
