If you can answer yes to one or more of these questions you might have an alcohol abuse problem. My suggestion: tell someone that you recognize you have a drinking problem and ask for their help. But you have to want help. If you are having a hard time cutting back your drinking on your own, talk to your Pastor, or family doctor or get in contact with your local AA and attend some of their meetings.
Regardless, I'm obligated to tell you that the Lord can deliver you from your afflictions. Get real with yourself, God, and seek out some Spirit filled people. The sweet Holy Spirit can infill you and deliver you from all that you will surrender to Him.

You are the only one that can control the flesh. Many of us face difficult battles. Rev.
I hope it's ok to disagree with ya brother Rev.I certainly value our friendship but no one can beat the flesh through the flesh..
Romans 8: 13 says "We put to death our fleshly deeds by the Spirit."
and "It's not by might , nor by power , but by my Spirit saith the Lord an dthis mountain shall be moved."
God bless Rev. and no hard feelings I hope.

Deer Hunter, there is a ritual associated with drinking, much the same as withsmoking.
If you are not among the few that can "śjust quit"ť cold turkey, my advice would be to switch to O"™Doul"™s <sp>.
Drinking tends to bring out the worst in people. Unless you are a very, very kind person, you are worse when you are drinking than when you are not.
Others may have a differing opinion. but the Bible doesn"™t condemn having a drink.
The Bible does however STRONGLY condemn acting mean towards folks. Chances are that you are a meaner person when you are drinking than when you are not.
Think about it.
Thanks

Yep your right, but we have to start the process. The Spirit isn't going to make is disappear... I wish it was that easy, or I'd be a Saint.. and I Ain't.. just made that up, sound cool, huh?
Chuck you can't make me mad brother! I agree with what you said, I just meant that we have to be the ones to start the process.. It's called repentance. We can't repent, unless we acknowledge it is not pleasing to God. The Holy Spirit can convict us of it all day long, but we have to be the ones that battle and struggle with it.
Like me, when I see a cold beer with the beads of sweat running down the glass,,, I want one, but I know I can't have one... I battle that one daily. (it's tough, but its been many years since, I've had one) but with God's help I have overcome it! Glory to God!!!!!!

I agree with that as well....We must have the desire to want to stop sinning. The desire will lead us to pray. Prayer will lead us to victory. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:11
I know should just stop but its hard. I am alright around the two beers. Then judgement starts slipping a bit. Its going to be a great battle been beer free for two days now. I believe the longest have went was almost two weeks.
