Default Sunday's Sermonette

Here it is August already..time sure flies, especially when you are as old as i am.. been getting some much needed rain here in central f and it is hot but i'm not complaining as God has been good to this old man..
Please pray for those in need today, many are sick and some are discouraged downhearted..just remember God is there for you, just go to him in prayer..Dear Heavenly Father we come to you today with our petitions for those who are in need and ask that you will be done in each life and we thank you in Jesus name Amen

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12, a great chapter written by Paul by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit..in this chapter he is talking to the christians about their walk and conduct and it certainly fits in with us today..there are those who claim to be Christians but you couldn't see it in their lifestyle..there is hardly a movie or television show that you can let your children watch anymore..there is no such thing as sin in the producers eyes..homosexuality is an alternate lifestyle..adultry supposedly makes your marriage stronger..don't tell my wife that..killings are out of control, child molestation is at a high point and the list goes on..paul writes in verse 1 that we are to be holy,acceptable to God and be a living sacrifice and he tells how we can do that,By The Mercies Of God..we can't do it on our own but with God's mercy and love we can do anything according to his will.Amen..when we do what God asks us here, that is just our reasonable service, so that means there is a lot more we could and should do..it says ir verse 11 of our text,"Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit,serving the Lord..my friends to keep our spiritual fire going we must continue to keep adding the fuel to it,hope, patience, prayer, and most of all humility..i think all of us could have more humility..we sit here and argue about the Trinity and Baptism and other things for hours and days on end so i ask you, how many did you witness too this week, last week, last month? I like Rev's. signature,"Always witness, if necessary use words." yes we should always be ready to give the hope that is within us..in verse 2 he gives us a command, "Be not conformed to this world."it's so easy to give in to the ways of the world..hollywood and TV. make sin look like it's so much fun and we slowly merge in with them..we should be like Joshua when he said,"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."now folk i'm still talking about Christians and believe it or not we do give up the good fight of faith.i didn't say we give up our faith but the fight of faith..remember paul's dying testimoy where he said,"i have fought a good fight, i have finished my course,i have kept the faith."there is so much more we could talk about in this chapter, so please read it and meditate on it and let God control your life..It has helped me and i hope it will bless you..
Father thank you so much for loving us and laying out the plans for each and everyone here..help us Father to worship you in spirit and in truth and please instill in our hearts love for one another and give us the desire to go about spreading the good news that Jesus saves.. and as always if there is one here that is lost and without a Saviour may this be their day of salvation..we pray in Jesus name and for his sake, Amen..

The cross upon which Jesus died
Is a shelter in which we can hide
And its grace so free is sufficient for me
And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea.

Chorus

There's room at the cross for you
There's room at the cross for you
Though millions have come, there's still room for one
Yes there's room at the cross for you.

Though millions have found him a friend
And have turned from the sins they have sinned
The Savior still waits to open the gates
And welcome a sinner before it's too late.

Chorus

The hand of my Savior is strong
And the love of my Savior is long
Through sunshine or rain, through loss or in gain,
The blood flows from Calvary to cleanse every stain.

Chorus

Amen... Good word. We need more preachers preaching like that. Sunday services have turned into watered down feel good messages. Thanks for the word brother Wayne.
