Default Sunday Sermonette

Good morning all and hope you have a great week-end..

Father As always we pray for those who are sick and are going through tough times and many i know are discouraged and down hearted and some are on the verge of giving up..but we know Father that you are there for all our needs, great or small. you said in your Word if we would just ask and believe you would answer our prayers..thank you for what you have done and for what you will do ..we pray in Jesus name, Amen..

27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.
28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.
29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.
30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:27-32 kjv.

At times we could really wrestle with the statements of Jesus as the publicans did here.. we tend to murmur and complain about everything..we want the preacher to preach us a good time message, one that will bless us and make us feel good while the lost sinner never hears the gospel..how manty times have you said ,"i don't want to be around him, he is a drunk etc? too many times i'm afraid we need togo out into the hi-ways and by-ways and spred the gospel message to all that will listen..a friend of mine has a good motto, "Witness always, if necessary use words" my dear friends if ever the gospel needs to be told, it's now. so stand up and be a witness for Jesus..yes we need to be there for the saved ones in their time of trials and tribulatios but our main desire should be to take the good news to the lost.amen! but what Jesus I believe is talking about here is the man who was not leaning toward spiritual things and God at least at the surface is not part of what they are seeking. Yet, we know that God has prepared a way and the ONLY door is through the man, Jesus Christ.John 14:6 says,"I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes o the Father except by me." There is no other Name under heaven or earth by which you can be saved. Levi, was doing exactly what one would do once his eyes had been opened to the things of God. Levi was not touched on the surface, but truly had been transformed by the call of Jesus upon his life. So Levi called his old buddies ( if you can call such a group as this: friends), but it was his starting point and the group got to interact with Jesus and find out for themselves. From the writer of this Scripture, the idea of sick and doctor is the right path for Dr. Luke. Jesus came that all ( and ALL of us really need the Doctor of Life) might find life and true peace. Only Jesus can heal and there is no other man can turn to. Allow the Great Physician to heal your broken heart and bind your broken dreams. He is able!! but you have to give him all the pieces..what a wonderful Saviour.

Father we thank you today for calvary and the great sacrifce Jesus made for us..we love you and all glory and honor goes to you for all that is done in your name..and Father if there is one here today that is lost, we pray that this will be their day of salvation..these things we pray and ask in Jesus precious name and for his sake, AMEN!

Sing this old hymn with me and if you don't know the tune, read the words..what a wonderful message..

On a hill called Calvary, Jesus my Lord suffered for me.
Carried the cross all the way my sins to atone.
Then they nailed Him to a cross,
Great was the pain and the loss.
He suffered it all, (He suffered it all)
Because He loved me. (Because He loved me)

Chorus

Because He loved me, my Savior died, on the cross was crucified,
No greater love for mortal man has ever been known.
Oh praise His dear name, He loved me so,
Now I am His, He's mine, I know
He suffered it all, (He suffered it all)
Because He loved me. (Because He loved me)

Then they carried Him away, placed Him in a lonely grave
Surely they thought that this would be the end of this man.
But on that third and glorious day,
God came and rolled the stone away.
He rose from the dead (He rose from the dead)
Because He loved me. (Because He loved me)

Chorus
