I know most of you are guys but most of you are also married and I was wondering if anyone had any good craft ideas that they have used. We are planning VBS and have our main craft projects lined up. I just need some ideas in case some of the kids get done with their projects before the allotted time. This years theme is Matthew 5:16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. For pre-k to 3rd grade they will decorate flashlights to look like lightening bugs and the other grades are doing candles that will have sand and shells on them. They will also do picture frames, decorate a t-shirt and they will be decorating sun visors. We only have four days this year instead of 5. So I need 4 easy in-expensive projects that take 5-10 minutes.
Man I stink at craft and artisific areas (so sorry I can'treally help)but our church just got done with VBS this week. We had close to 200 kids attend. Good Luck with the craft ideas but I am terrible at crafts.

Thanks Tex, I did a google search but they have updated since then. They didn't used to have the sun catcher on there. so now I only have 3 more to go. I think I just need to try another search engine to see what comes up. I need to tell my pastor about the one sight though because he has a session for the kids and he likes to use objects in his sessions for the little ones to keep their attention. Last year he used play-doh and it worked wonderfully.
The Baptist church here does VBS, and they have the kids do plaster casts of praying hands, etc., and then they paint them. It must be cost effective because thats been what they have done for at least the last 2,000 yrs.

Thanks Leaf that is a great idea. I didn't think of it but plaster of paris is very cheap only about 16 for a huge tub of it. Can you find out how they do it I would like to have that as a project for next years VBS because I don't think it will fit into our time limit this year. Does Lizzie know how?
