Default Catholic prayers

It has been brought to my attentionthat some protestants do not want Catholics to pray for them. Is this true and is there anyone on this board that wouldn'twant that? I had never heard that before.

Seems strange to me. Never heard of such. I take it you're catholic? I wouldn't care what a person called themselves if they prayed to the God of Jacob and Abraham and had a well-meaning heart....that would include non-messianic jews...thier God is my God and if I'm gonna require a person's views and convictions to line up perfectly with mine I'm gonna be waiting a long time.

I think this comes from the protestant view of catholics praying to Mary and the saints. As for me, I'll take what I can get.

I think a lot of people have a misconception of how Catholics pray. I am not Catholic but grew up Catholic and left the church at an early age. Most people think Catholics are praying to Mary and other Saints, when in all actuality they are asking for of Mary or the Saints to intercede for them.
As Protestants we ask others to pray for us or intercede for us, they are simply using the mother of Jesus and His trusted apostles to stand with them in prayer.
I think it"™s certainly as part of their religion as we celebrate the Lords supper, or tithe.

Shucks, I dont mind if anyone offers to pray for me. Not sure what good having a Buddhist pray for you would be, but I certainly wouldnt insult them by refusing their offer.
