Brother,
What kind of fast are we talking about
1. 40 days of water only

2. fast one meal a day

3. fast 2 meals a day.

4. Vegetarian fast.

5.up to each individual...

I want to be part of this..
May 28th starts tomorrow.

From a water fast, to a "daniel" fast...to just unplugging the TV or skipping the Java each morning. Totally up to you.

I'm pretty excited about it.

It's not only for youth. Everyone of every age is invited. The day is free but they do ask they you register so they can plan for overflows and parking if need be. I'm always impressed when stuff like this is offered free, there's some BIG money required to rent out a stadium I'm sure.

I'll be honest though, even with a water fast not being feasible with my summer job, fasting scares the be-jebbies out of me (well, 40 days of it at least)

My cabinet man went on a forty day fast last year. He drank one protein shake every morning. He got very weak and looked half dead at the end, but he did it. He also lost 35 pounds. I have a hard time with fasting, I usually fast between meals. .. If I have to fast, I like the Jewish fast the best.

I've lost 40 so far this year Rev.I also like the Jewish fast...from 6 AM till 6 PM ..I got 40 more to go.

Enjoy that shortcake brother...my wife made a bunch of biscuits today as well for some shortcaake.We plan to eat some tomorrow. Fasting is supposedto be done in private so it's very difficult to talk about fasting publically. One thing I remember said in Bible College...If one is skipping meals but not praying...he is simply dieting..I think it woul db emore pleasing to God to pray for 30 minutes than to skip 3 meals and pray not at all. Fasting is simply a time set apart to be alone with God. I do think though that we are to walk in moderation 24/7 . ..to me that takes faith.
