Found this devotion by someone elseand wanted to share: II Corinthians 6:16-17 ""Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord""
In many of our hunting experiences camouflage is very important. So many of the critters we pursue would be nearly impossible to harvest if we did not use camouflage to our benefit. This is particularly true as bow hunting is upon us. If you have not experienced bow hunting you are missing an amazing adventure. Bow hunting enables you to get in real close to your game. This brings us a whole new perspective. Bow hunting our weary whitetails it is extremely important to have the proper camouflage. We also use scent blockers or scent cover ups.
We as Christians tend to use camouflage in our walk with Jesus. We put on cover scent in many forms so that people won"t find out we are Christians. We camouflage ourselves to look like the world so we don"t stick out. The Bible tell us we are not part of this world.
I am not saying we are to walk around with "blaze orange" Christianity. I will be the first to tell you no matter what a person"s beliefs it is wrong to "push" upon anyone else. Those fanatical outspoken people that claim "religion" without knowing the true definition of Christianity is not what we are to strive for . I could sit down and share with you for hours about the Bible, Christianity and Jesus. This in most cases would turn out unsuccessful. My own opinion is my actions speak way louder than my words. Countless times in my life I have had people that I worked with or associated with on a regular basis say to me "there"s something different about you. Your always smiling and upbeat. How do you do it?" This is a real easy chance for me to say "honestly I cannot do it without God"s help". This opens the door for further discussion about my personal relationship with Christ. I could easily say "I have a great wife who makes me happy. My son keeps me upbeat". That"s camouflaging my salvation. Camouflaging my relationship with my best friend Jesus Christ.
Are you wearing cover up scents? Are you disguised with worldly camouflage? Are you hiding your relationship with Christ? There are several reasons this happens. We are ALL guilty of this at times in our lives. It is human nature to want to please people. Human nature to want everyone to like us. We live in such a society today that everyone walks around in a way not to offend anyone. My pastor told us once in a sermon, "I spent the first 20 years of my life worrying about what other people thought about me. The next 20 years I spent not caring what people thought of me. Now that I"m 60 I realize people were not even thinking anything about me".
Don"t be ashamed of your belief in Jesus. After all, Jesus died on the cross for your benefit. He paid a debt he did not owe. I thank him each day for paying that debt that I could never pay. He is such a good friend to us. Let him lead your life. Throw away that camouflage you"ve been wearing around the "boys" at work
