"But when Jesus saw it he was indignant, and said to them, "śLet the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them. "
10:15Receive the kingdom indicates the continuing thrust of Jesus"™ message as He prepares His disciples for reigning in the coming kingdom. Children exhibit sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude, and total dependence on their parents. Thus, childlikeness is a fitting comparison for the qualities a disciple should have. Adults can become worldly wise, self-sufficient, and skeptical of religion and various plans for salvation. Heart attitude is basic to leadership in the kingdom.
I nevertruly understood this verse until today why we must receive the kingdom of God like a small child, but now makes perfect sense why we need to childlike becausechildren are fully dependenton theirparents. In a world that says pull yourself up myyourbootstraps, God says justlean back on me.

Super amen brother...anytime I see myself as even in the littlest inkling of in charge ...I fall flat on my face. We must let him be Lord of ALL. Remember..Jesus never even spoke a word except what he was told to say by the Father...We shoukld be the same way....wait carefully on Him before we speak so carelessly..

Amen, when I became a Christian that was one of the first lessons I had learned. I was used to being dependant on myself for many many years and when I found out that I could have a personal relationship with God and lean on Him, I was relieved because that was what I needed most. At first I was afraid of how people would look at me and then some of the older ladies saw my child-like characteristic of soaking things up like a sponge and they said that it helped remind them to be child like in their life. I hope I always remember that and when someone new comes that I will do as I was taught and extend my hand to them. Great Post!
