I'm not ignoring your question my friend. All I could offer here is speculation. I have no concrete Biblical answers to this particuliar question.I don't like speculating Biblical truths.
.Sorry.

I think if you read on further, you'll find suggestions that Adam and Eve had more children. Obviously though, if Adam and Eve were the only parents around, procreation by their children would have involved brother/sister incest by necessity.

This isn't the only case of incest. Recall the instance where Lot's daughters got him drunk so that they could "lay with him."

In those days children were your only retirement plan. That's why the Law required a man to father children by his brother's widow. The children were considered the children of the dead brother. This gave the widow security in her old age.

"And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:" Gen.5:4

Adam's third son Seth had children..
"And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters." Gen.5:7

Since Adam an Eve were the first human beings created, it is obvious that Cain married one of his sisters or one of his nieces..
I don't see any speculation there..

You will hear many different "theories" on the subject.

They'll probably be:

1. Adam and Eve's children intermarried and procreated with their siblings. The gene pool had not yet been so badly corrupted by sin to cause deformities and diseases due to incest.

2. There were others around for Adam and Eve's children to be with that weren't siblings. Perhaps Adam and Eve were created first, or perhaps they are special because they were the keepers of God's garden.

We must remember, that there is no timeline for when God commanded Adam and Eve to "go forth and multiply" and when they sinned. It could've been hundreds of years, or it could have been days.

The Bible doesn't go into detail on answering these questions, it doesn't mean that the Bible is wrong, it just means that the Holy Spirit (through divine inspiration) saw it not of greatest importance.

I agree with you Motor in that it does'nt take much speculation. Can you imagine how many offspring 800 yrs could produce?
It's of no importance but I have pondered whether or not one could consider Cain and Abel marrying their sisters as "line breeding" in as much as there was no line. I'm not scientific enough to think too deep about it and am satisfied that the Lord had it all figured out.

I havn't heard of theory #2 That there where others around . Where is that mentioned in the bible?

I wasn't aware that Adam had other children so i guess we are all decendants of incest ? []

When God made Adam He made Him in His image so physically speaking Adam and Eve were perfect, and from there the fall of man occured and then they had children, but I have been told that this was like a slow degressing for lack of a better word. So at first their blood lines were stronger and as more people were formed there was more of a seperation in blood lines and then God said no more incest after a certain point because there was no need for it. In these like these I give all honor and glory to God, He is God and can do anything. I have also heard that God made other people after the fall but I am not convicted of that, and when I go to heaven and feel I would still like to know than I can ask, but I don't think it will matter, after seeing the face of God I image that all of it will just be forgotten and all I will want to do is praise Him.

If one accepts the Biblical account, that would be the only possible conclusion.
