One of the reasons that I like the hunting and shooting community so much is that I have had such a positive experience in their presence. Whether it is someone offering a tip, lending a spotting scope, or even strangers lending my 12 yr old daughter a shorter gun for clays, I've been impressed with the kindness of the shooting community.
I've visited this site occassionally and wasn't very surprised to see a Religion heading. It seems that the hunting ethic, the blog ethic (where some people ask for help and others give it), and the love for nature are in complete accord with God's wish for stewardship.
I'm a Catholic, volunteer religious education teacher for 8th graders, who meets every Tuesday morning at the local Presbyterian church to discuss/argue about religion with a bunch of guys of all religious views (including atheists). While I mayreally disagree withsome of their opinions, I love every one of them and have no problem thinking of them as my brother, father, or grandfather.
I'm new here, but the fact that this forum is here is a testament to the values of the hunting community.

Welcome. I bet some of those discussions get pretty heated. There are some good guys here, most with strong beliefs. While things can get heated here too, don't take it personally. Hope to get to know you.....dabow
