1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad. Psalm 53 kjv.
In chapter 14 verse 1 it also says,"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." So don't get mad at me God said it..whether in Noah's, Mose's David's or our time, fools have always said there is no God..read chapter 14 and see what God haa to say about them..
God 'sWord is living and also is there for whatever is going on in the life of each of us. David ,the writer of this Psalm must have been in some problem and God delivered him and the people. To him, it must have occurred to him this is very much like some other event which had happened earlier for David but with a slight change. For the writer of the Inspired Word, when you say it more than once it is just a reflection of how alive the Word of God is. As in Psalms 14, the first verse should put us on the right path, but there will always be those who look around them and though they see the wonders of God and all that is occurring and will say with a straight face, "There is NO God!!" Yet they are really blind and can not see. There is nothing that has happened, is happening or will happen that Word of God can not meet head on and be the right course of action. You and I will, during the coming days, will have many opportunities to be a witness for Him in how we respond and act under the circumstances of life. What will it be? On our own or through the power of the Spirit of God? Allow God to direct our paths
May God richly bless you all and may all your prayers be answered and remember to tell someone about Jesus this week..

I believe he could be speaking of many people today...even those that attend church regularly. I see little "good" being done today, comparably to the population growth... I see MORE hatred...MORE civil unrest...LESS acts of loving kindness...MORE opportunity to display Gods' LOVE,(.. we dare not mention how we're doing as Christians in THAT area)..and yet, the foljks go on with their daily lives..nothing different today, than when David wrote it, IMHO!
as for the seeing part... we walk by ?? ,not by what?? our eyes can be easily deceived by the powers of satan. I believe nothing I hear and 1/2 what I see..words my Grandfather wisely spoke to me.
Good one again wayne. Some people are said to have 'selective hearing'. I think that there is also such a thing as 'selective sight'. A person's heart attitude mostly determines how he 'sees' events around him. His perspective, based on how he wants things to be is the determining factor for how he perceives them, as opposed to being open to reality. There is no greater reality than God and His involvement in His creation and His people.
