Child's View of Heaven

Wisdom from a 5-year-old.

A sunday school teacher for younger children recently asked them a series of questions about going to heaven.

Children, would I go to heaven if I was very nice to people? No. Would I go to heaven if I was a good mommy or daddy? No. Would I go to heaven if I treated my brothers and sisters nice? No. What would it take for me to go to heaven? Little 5-year-old Johnny pipes up and say, "First you have to die!"

That sounds like the kids in my sunday school class. Yesterday I was doing the lesson on Fishers of Men. And before I read the lesson to my class I asked the kids, "How do you fish for men?" They said, you can't fish for them with a pole because you will hurt them. So my 4 year old piped in and said, "Yeah so you have to catch them in a net." Why? So you can stop them and tell them that, "Jesus loves you." I explained that you don't use a net you just tell them you want to talk to them, and yes you say Jesus loves you. That you fish for men with the word of God. It is amazing what these little ones comprehend. Thanks for sharing.
