Default Sunday's Sermonette

Praise the LORD! this is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it..AMEN! yes my friends, we serve a wonderful Saviour, one who hears and answers prayers..let's remember those who are sick and afflicted today and those who may be discouraged and down hearted..

Father we thank you so much for loving us and for your wonderful mercy and grace to us as undeserving as we are..we do lift up those who are sick and have other needs that only you can supply..now may thy sweet Holy Spirit speak to us this day through your Word and may it bless us all in some way..we thank you again and in Jesus name and for his sake we pray..Amen

1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.
5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Psalm 39:1-5 kjv.

I love the Psalms, especially those written by David because he was a sinner just like all of us..you know he committed adultry and lied and was a murderer..yet he loved God and knew to turn to him for forgiveness..God said David was man after his own heart so you see there is hope for all of us if we just trust in God..the Bible says to, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 you see our problem is, we don't trust God with everything in our lives..we seem to think we are smarter than him in most things..the Bible also says, "There is a way that seems right unto man but the ways thereof is death." that's in Proverbs too but i forget the chapter and verse..As we walk the path God has for us, we have seen and maybe we even have been one of those who feel that we will be here forever. We see this especially in young men who go about doing things that push everything to the edge. We see how individuals take for granted that we will be here tomorrow when we may only have the next moment or breath. Especially during these past days as we have heard or seen on TV what has happened at Virginia Tech. No one got up that morning thinking I will be dead before the day is over. We live as if there is never going to be an end to life. Yet for David, the writer of our Scripture above, he realized that we are here but for a moment. This attitude that we can take care of spiritual things tomorrow is not from God, but the one who wants all to join him for an eternity apart from God. He will do that he can to bring down any and all that will put off to tomorrow what should be done today. we never know what a day will bring..just this week we buried a dear friend of mine, he was 79 years old..but just a few weeks ago i preached the funeral of a man 56 years old.. we never know so we better be ready at all times.Amen Do not let the old devil take from you the true gift of life: new birth in the Son, Jesus..Jesus came to this earth, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and buried, but praise God the grave could not hold him for He arose and is in Heaven today sitting at the right hand of the Father waiting for him to say, it is time Son, go get your church..Glory to God!!!! yes he is coming again, are you ready? that's the gospel, all you have to do is believe it, repent of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your life and change you..I promise you, He will and you'll never be sorry you did..

Father it is my prayer today, that if there is one here that is lost and without a Saviour that this will be their day of salvation..I pray and ask this in Jesus prcious name, Amen..

Precious Lord, take my hand,
Lead me on, let me stand,
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light:
Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.
When my way grows drear,
Precious Lord, linger near,
When my life is almost gone,
Hear my cry, hear my call,
Hold my hand lest I fall:
Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.
When the darkness appears
And the night draws near,
And the day is past and gone,
At the river I stand,
Guide my feet, hold my hand:
Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.

Thank you for taking the time to post that with us.And yes, David is definitely someone easy to relate with. Fortunately, our God is giving God; our God is blessing God; our God is an encouraging God; our God is an empowering God; butmost of all our God is a loving God.

Thanks Bro Motor, excellent Word as always. I'm still saving every one of these.
These Scripture popped out at me. I'm going to do a personal study of these Scripture contexting the with "being persuaded by your own mind".
