Default Who Do You Trust

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Hebrews 6:13-20 KJV.

Can ya remember when A man's word was all that was needed at one point in time.If I said I would do it and usually shook hands, then nothing else was needed. I can remember this as I was growing up and it was very important to individuals that their word meant something. In our Scripture here, we see God has stated that through Abraham the world would be blessed and then to re-affirm this, God then swore a oath using Himself as the One He was swearing upon that it would happen. Now I don't know about you, but having God say he was going to do something and then to follow with an oath, it ought to be very obvious to the readers that God is very serious in carrying out what He has stated will occur. For me, this is peace in knowing that God will take care of all that are His. As you read the Scriptures and ponder at how God carries this out, it should truly give your heart peace and also a strength knowing that God is with you where you go. Another week is flying by and it seems like it is picking up speed. May His hand be on you and may His peace accompany you as you walk the path He has for you. Have a great weekend as you serve Him and tell someone about Jesus..
