Default Someting I learned at an inservice today that might benefit us here.

Today I went to an inservice today on Reading Assessment.

They only thing new I picked up was this ...and I think it could be very benificial here. It would take pages to exlain it so I will model it through the following dialogue. What we are doing here is teaching teh student how he thinks ...how he uses background and expereince to come up with His or her answer. We could also use some of this if we really wanted to undrstand another brother..instead of trying ot reteach Him..see how he came up with His answer. It could be a learning expereince for all.So if in the future I ask one of you guys how or why..I'm not being a smarty...I'm lookin got understand better.

Teacher...Does God love you?

John Doe. yes

Teacher ..how do you know ?

Jon Doe..My mom told me..

Teacher ..and how does your mom know that God loves you ..

John Doe..she read it from the Bible.

Teacher ..Where at in the Bible.

Johnny...John 3:16

Summary..now we know why Johnny beleives God loves him. Instead of clobbering one another or saying they are wrong..wouldn't it be more profitable to ask why questons IN KINDNESS with out belittling..Possibly Johnny may say I don't know and then maybe one could in love point him to truth...also we coulod possilbly learn something ourselves.

Thanks Chuck,

If you want to put a fancy name with it this is what some people would call the "Socrates Method" "Socratic Method" "Socratic Questioning". (If you wanna look it up to due a little further learning.)

I'm not a big fan of the greek philosophy, but this type of dialoque does work. And its very good at keeping conversations from turning into an arguement. IF, and only IF, that is the questioner's intent. It can very easily become a demeaning and insulting merry-go-around that manuplates any answer that could possibley be given.

Amen and amen
Soil, God certainly does answer prayer. A week or 2 ago I remember praying for more understanding of people.I cannot beleive the tools God has supplied me with lately...and it has helped alot. The principal now was talking about our entire school staff taking the True Colors training. It has certainly helped me understand my co workers and family members as well as folks on here. Regardless if folks on here take the test or not..we all show our true colors .

Definately read that book that I and another person talked to you about. I'm not in any type of romantic relationship since I've read it but it has drastically altered the way I understand both men and women around me. It's kinda funny, you wonder how you never noticed those things before.
