It is obvious from threads and responses on this forum that there is a great amount of intolerance, judgmental attitudes, sarcasm and disrespect directed at least toward me from my posts. Are you telling me that individuals are only allowed to post particular religious questions, regarding Christianity, that fit into a particular paradigm of beliefs to be afforded respect? Is that what I am suppose to get? And if that is what I am suppose to understand, what paradigm/set of beliefs are the acceptable ones here and which ones are not? I will start there.
I've only browsed a few posts, but here's my take. All religions are allowed here. When whatone may call Mainstream Christians (like me) here from a professed Christian views which are contrary to mainstream Christianity, they feel called to point out that person as a false teacher, blasphemer, etc.
So saying "I'm my own kind of Christian," or some similar words evokes certain responses. Many may not be what all would consider kind or tactful.
If one said, "my religion includes some Biblical principles, but is not mainstream Christianity..." then you might get more respectful dialogue. Maybe not. Just my speculation upon browsing some posts.

I appreciate your observations. I guess you do bring up a good point that choice of words and terminology does seem to be important. Thanks.

Red, lets be honest here too. Your a poke the caged animal type of guy, and see the response. Then when you get the response you knew you would (it very obvious, not even tactful), you say, look, he's intolerant, judgemental, disrespectful. And I don't understand that type of person. And probably never will.
Yep, I am sarcastic. Everybody knows me as that. I would say I would be different, but most of the people I knew growing up were that way. Sorry it offends you. I mean that. Some people in certain parts of the US sees it as comedy to get the point across. I see you don't understand. Again sorry it offends.

Come on. You have justproven a point of contention in your response. Before my responses today, I have not used the terms judgmental, disrepect, etc...toward others, but you have now applied that to my whole history here. Do you realize you just did that and how thatpoints out how people are lookingfor reasons to be less than polite.TheJesus influenced by Buddhism, post was not posted for any other reason than discussion. Can some of you not simply not respond to posts you can not respectfully discuss or answer? As far as sarcasm, I enjoy sarcasm, but it has been made clear to me by Calhunter that it is a rule of this site to be mindful of sarcasm and respecting others, so if I have been given a reminderto be aware of it, then I expect others are bound by it as well.
