Yes that is sad. An old friend of mine who was Pastor of a church of God had his ministry affected in a similar way. His wife became over zealous at a basket ball game and was using profanity and charged for assault. It really reflected bad on him.
He was the kind of christian that obviously spent his life in prayer and fasting. And his wife who was not as well known to me worked hard for the church and seemed like an ideal Pastors wife . . .at least until this incident.
I still pray for them as he had a powerful ministry. I don't know where they are now but the last I heard he was still preaching.
We put men of God on pedestals sometimes, and it's always a blow when we realize that they fall like everybody else sometimes. Some fall harder and in a bigger way than others. At any rate the one you are speaking of here is going to need the Lord to pull him out of this hole.

i have seen it also, where an elder wanted to take an elder outside, very disturbing, but one thing i think we should remember "men of god" are still just "men". this is one reason i am very very catious of putting trust in mankind, i have been let down too many times, not too say there are not some good people out there put that we are just human, i will pray that the man that was beaten will have a full recovery and that he will find it in his heart to have a heart of forgivness, and for all involved, very, very sad situation[&o], i'll be praying for all of them
