Default Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God"”this is true worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is"”his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

I find this verse very rewarding. I am trying to not conform of this world its working slowly butI do struggle. I do find it neat I dont really worry about to much of this world now. I look at many things around me and find them meanless. I do have a question how far is one suppose to go in not conforming of this world. There is one thing that I do tend to worry about is find a job. A job is of this world but the bible tells us not to be lazy. Also as all of us are hunters I find great relaxation in nature. Now God creatured all this for us. Is it of this world yeah its here in the pysical part but what is it?

Working is Scriptural. However, some jobs could be and should be considered not proper for a Christian to perform. For instance, desiging buildings for a living is fine work which i am certain God would approve of. Working in an adult bookstore would most likely be frowned upon.

Hunting is Scriptural. Our reasons for hunting have changed, it is no longer necessary for us to hunt in order to feed our families. Most of us seek nature as an escape from the world. I find nature a wonderful place to observe God's handiwork. There is a difference between a Godly hunter and an ungodly hunter. Going to deer camp and getting drop dead drunk is not how a Christian should behave.

When Paul speaks of conforming to this world, I am certain he is referring to being different than those who do not know God. I dont think it has anything to do with the Earth. I think it has to do with Satan and mankind's tendency to live sinfully. Lets face facts, for now we are stuck here. But this is not our home. I think of it like a layover in an airport....my final destination if much nicer than this place, even though God did make a wonderful planet.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.Luke 9:62

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. John 12:24.35

So true Brother! Another thought is that we should be our companies hardest workers as we should be doing everything unto the Lord and for His glory

Here is a place were I can struggle every year ... I get wrapped up sometimes in the chase of my quarry without thinking of the Lord ... or even being on this forum too much, instead of studying His Word more ... Most of the time, the woods are a place where I can pray for hours as I am in my stand ... but then there's those days ....
