I know have brought this up before. We all have many choices we make each day. Alot of the time I try in trust in God to make the right choices. God gave us the freedom to make our own choices. He wants us to make the right ones. With many of my choices I make each day. I pray to God for help. I dont pray for everthing. It comes back to that conscience thing. There are some things in my life when I make a choice that if I am making the right one or not. I trust in God and I feel making the right choice. I am not 100% sure is this what God wants for me or am I just feeding my earthy need. For example I just brought a newer truck. I have been looking for a one so looked at alot of different trucks none seemed right. Then I found one I felt was right. It may sound werid I felt from God this was the right truck to buy. Now was God really telling me this? I dont know. Other example I think this girl is really good looking I dont know much about her in the ways of her relationship with God. There is something that tells me she isnt the one. What I am scared is maybe she is the one and missing it. Also maybe I tend to over think things. There are many things in my life that I get feelings like this. Other one I am thinking about getting a MBA in a few years after I get a my B.S. in MET. Something tells me to go for. Is this what I want or does God know whats best?

it took me a long time to figure out that Gods way is the best way, i just pray that you figure it all out quicker than i did, BTW, there is a good chancethat the things you want/need in lifeand Gods will will run concurrently, it has for me,the sooner you "let go, let God". he is trying to lead you now, will you let him???

None of us can tell for sure if the other one is truly hearing from God or not. I've been trying to decern this area as well since Oct. of 1976.
Try the spirits,
The Word says try the spirits. Sometimes I will go with the leading of that innner voice..example that truck...IF you go that direction ..thank God for it. Don't wonder ..ut oh was that really God or not. Thank Him for your truck..and be real with God. He knows we are not 100% sure of if it's really Him or not. but Hebrews 11:6 says "Without faith its impossible to please Him." So if you think it may be God...do it. ..and thank him.
Fasting.
Something big like a truck ...I would fast a couple of days..Why? I don't know how it works but fasting quietens down your flesh big time and helps you to hears God better..it also helps kill your selfish desires.
The Word...
The is most important..you need to have a healthy diet of God's Word to make sure the voice you are hearing and your desires line up with God's Word.
Prayer
You also need to pray daily and commune with Him often. You want to live and walk in such a way where you are hearing God all the time. The Word says .His Spirit and your Spirit are one.
Single minded.
James says .."A doubleminded man recieveth nothing from the Lord. " You can't love the world and love God too.It don't work like that. You will always live in doubt.
Dead man.
You must be dead to this world . That is the easiest way I've found to know God's will. Fasting is great..but it's also just a part time thing. The dead man has to have a plan where he or she is dead DAILY . Jesus said, To take up your cross daily." The deader we are...the more a live we will be in Christ,;the more easier it is to discern His voice, share Christ and know His will. Joy and peace flow like a quiet river and there is no condemnation. His blessings come to you .Like one brother said."Seek ye first the Kingdomn of God AND His RIGHTEOUSNESS and ALL THESE THINGS SHALL {Most diffently } will be added unto YOU!

Chuck, Well said. If I may, I would add to start moving in a direction, asking God to open or close doors as you go, according to His will. God loves you and He will do just that.
Remember, you can't steer a vehicle that is stopped, but once it's moving, the one in control can direct it as He sees fit. Just ask God to steer as you move towards a desire.
One last thought ... if God is your co-pilot .....SWITCH SEATS!!!

One thng I've been also listening to lately is the no s God gives us. Sometimes it is just a little inkly of a check in your spirit. i lost count of how many threads I've replied to where I sense a "Cancel it" and so I do..or reread it and delete a line or 2 that could be taken teh wrong way.
The Word says the mature have that discening mechanism sharpened. i'm at school so that is a paraphrase. I'm actually here early.I'm leading a prayer group. God has been moving in an awesome way.

Very well put there Chuck what I highlighted. That basically sums up what I am talking about. I just get these inklies sometimes its God speaking to me. What drives me nuts is really is it God speaking to me? Is it my earthy wants and needs thats speaking to me. Alot of the time not all I just go withif it feels right. Now is this right I have no idea. With the woman that I like like I said I get a feeling not to go after her. Is this a mistake that could cost me a future wife. Thats my biggest fear making the wrong choice. I get a inkly she isnt the one.

I don't know of any brother on here that don't beleive God doesn't bless HIs people or would crucify you. We have a great bunch of men here..and we are all overflowing with blessing. Possibly there has been a misunderstanding somewhere.
I have an old saying that goes something like this:Before you can be willing to do anything, you must be willing to do anything! Simply put, surrender to God's will in all, and you will not have a problem with doing whatever it is He wants you to do, whether it is he choice in a mate or buying a truck or your lifelong vocation.
