Christinas,
So many times we tendto look at the obvious outward sins and crucify them but fail to see some of the other sins..the inward sins. Should they not be treatedwith the same fervencyas the outward ones like porn, drinking etc?
Let's take a look. I will highlight the ones that seem to be overlooked but remember..God has them all in the same category and the final result..is the samefolks who do them"WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. "I don't needto expound on the following which are highlighted. I will let everyones conscience including mine be our guide.
Galations.518 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Amen brother Mark,
Since these can be in us all....we can see the daily need for Christ.and the dying to self..I can't overcome these without Christ either and I don't thnk anyone else can as well. Identifying them is a real good step in the right direction. Hating them is progress as well.
Thanks for the reply Mark,

See your still reading the book about Humility. Its probably in other books, and know its in the bible, I just remember that phrase so well, when I went thru that book.

Jesus said, "he who stands firm to the end will be saved" Mark 13:13.
Live Life in such a way that those who do not know Christ will come to know Him because they know you
Romans 8:3-4-For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. Ephesians 2 tells us that before Christ we were sinners by nature, and Galatians 2 tells us that ' know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So, we too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. If we seek to be justified in Christ,it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be attained through the law, Christ died foir nothing."
Our responsibility is to repent of sin(a change of heart and mind),and to place our faith in the finished work of Christ, and when we do we are as righteous as we will ever need to beBecause of this new nature and the forgiveness we have mercifully and graciously been given through Christ, we are to begin the growth process of sanctification, where we begin to exemplify this new birth--the birthing of the new nature within us, literally indwelt by the very presence of His Spirit, being connected to Him through the cleansing work of the blood of Christ. We receive a new nature--if any man be in Christ he is a new creation---that coexists with the remnant of the old nature's effects within our mind, engrained in our habits, and conditioned by our experiences. Romans 12 says that we are to have our minds renewed so that we can prove the good and acceptable will of God, and this is the process of removing these stamped effects of our previously sinful nature, which will be an ongoing process throughout our lives. We will never be comfortable with behavior contrary to our new nature and our new position in Christ.Weare not , however, under some requirement to achieve sinless perfection, nor are we to continue in sin that grace may abound. (Romans 6)Sin is what we are saved from and delivered from--first positionally by the work of Christ, and then gradually worked into us, as we are 'predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ'. This conformity is a a work of the Spirit, and too, is received by faith, as we continue to walk in the light (illuminating what and who we really are)and to walk in the Spirit(finding the grace and empowerment to actually change our behavior). Our growth is hindered and the Spirit is griived when we fail, yet God has full accepted us in Christ, and we cannot add anything to His completed righteousness--only confession is necesarry--if we confess our sins , He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Only the believer can benefit from confession, as his sin is covered by the work of Christ. The unbeliever cn't simply confess, because the work of Christ isn't applicable to him until he is born again. Our conformity to His image will never be the requirement, but rather the after effect of our righteousness achieved by Christ.

So I guess THIS year's turkey hunt is gonna be a real drag huh? LOL!!!
Just kiddin' guys! I'm right there with ya. It gets pretty uncomfortable every time I go over "the list" of those who will not inherit the Kingdom of God. The GOOD news is that it's not OUR power that keeps us from committing these sins. Likewise, our GOODNESS or ability to refrain from these activities doesn't allow us entry into Heaven. It is only by God's grace through Christ's death on the cross that we have any access to spending eternity with our Father.
