Default Vision of Jesus

What does Jesus really look like?
by Tom BrownBy the grace of God I was privileged to see Jesus Christ in a vision. This vision took place when I was visiting a nursing home in El Paso, Texas. It occurred during the early 1980s. I had come to preach and minister to the elderly. On this day, I was rather discouraged.
As the people were singing songs, I closed my eyes and asked, "Lord, is it worth me coming to this nursing home to visit and preach to the people? They don"™t seem to be improving." After praying this simple prayer, I opened my eyes, and to my astonishment I saw the Lord.
I didn"™t see Him in his traditional garments; instead I saw Him sitting in a wheelchair with a blanket over His legs. There was suppose to be an elderly man sitting there, but instead it was the Lord. As I looked across the room, all I could see was Jesus. I saw Jesus in the place of all the people. He wore a nurse"™s uniform. He sat in a chair where there was a lady supposed to have sat. I could not see anyone"™s face. I only saw the Lord.
As I looked in astonishment, I heard the Lord say, "Whatever you have done for one of the least of these, you have done unto me." The vision ended.

I was also privledged to see Jesus after I finished reading the New Testament in 1976 of Oct. I've read many folks accounts of seeing him . The photo in my avatar was drawn by an artist in 1947. He had just saw a vision of Jesus and drew the picture. My vision looks very similiar. I did not notice a beard because I couldn't get my eyes off of His eyes. I also saw the robes and they were in color..a white gown , red sash like cloth and a deep purple one on the opposite side. That my friends was the most powerful experince I've ever had. I would not trade it for all the money in the world. About 1 month later I was visited once more ...and my last time. That time he came as a very powerful light .I fell to my army barricks floor crying Oh my God..Oh my God..and He filled me with a new language . God is incredibally awesome. Those experiences have lasted me a life time. I have never doubted the exisistance of God...my present work..to die of self that others may know Him..

Some people have seen a different look to Jesus and that is ok too.Example..the men on the Emmaus road didn't recognize Him at first. hey, maybe we have seen Jesus walking amongst us and just failedto recognize Him.

Mar 13:21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Mar 13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Mar 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
Mar 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
Mar 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

I knew an inmate that said he saw Jesus at night. He was a pretty rough cut type, had murdered a few people including a guard. He died the next day.

Acts 2: 16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

God bless,
and thanks for replying

I understand having a "vision". But a vision is something that is seen otherwise than by ordinary sight as in a dream or trance. Tom Brown is making a distinction that what he saw was a "vision" and not the actual physical presence of Christ. There is a difference.
I don't think Tom would venture to tell us what Christ looks like based on his vision but rather tells us the spiritual insight he had as in regards to helping others.

I appreciate the clarification Leaf..I really don't know the differnence .To me there is no difference ..IMHO a vision is just as reel as seeing Jesus.
They are one in teh same..I could say I had a vision of the Lord or I saw the Lord. To me there is no difference. I guess we can agree that we don't agree and continue in God's grace.

When Gideon's eyes were opened he saw the army of the Lord. Was the army simply a picture or was it truly an army?

The difference is to me that in a vision this is something going on in your spirit/head, and in hindsight you know this is the case. For instance, one would'nt say Jesus can be seen where I saw Him because you know that this was "in the spirit". Evidenced by your perception of what Christ should look like being manifest in the vision as per your avatar.

But yeah, we can agree to disagree.

The difference is to me that in a vision this is something going on in your spirit/head, and in hindsight you know this is the case. ..no sir..In my case Jesus was about 30 yds from me at the Eglin airforce Base. my eyes wer eopened and his eyes moved and looked at me.For instance, one would'nt say Jesus can be seen where I saw Him because you know that this was "in the spirit". That ..I don't know..in other words I'm not sure if you were there if you would have saw him too. Like in the 2nd account of Paul's visin..some heard something but wasn;t sure if it was thunder or what.Evidenced by your perception of what Christ should look like being manifest in the vision as per your avatar. I'm not sure what you mean here.

But yeah, we can agree to disagree. That is good.

I think perhaps Mr. Brown saw a figment of his own imagination.

Rev. 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

No disrespect to anyone, but the Scriptures are clear that many false prophets and even false Christs shall appear in the last days.

Stuff like this is why Christians lose credibility before the world. The worldbegins to see Christians as kooks. The answers are in God's Word---not in feelings, emotions, dreams, visions, etc. Satan is cunning---far more cunning than any man. He will use those things against us every time. He has been doing it for a long time now. Don't fall for such nonsense. Perhaps a psychiatrist could help Mr. Brown.
