Default What does it mean to be dead?

I was talkingto a friend today at work and he said,"Chuck . what do you mean by being dead?" "Also, does it mean all the previous things you did was a fake or phony?"

Being dead to self is a Biblical term used in Romans 6. "Being dead to sin." I heard a great evangelist in the 70s. I mean great. Signs followed his ministry and when he preached folks would get on their knees and bawl. It was very powerful. He said ,"The secret ..is to be dead and stay dead."

Doing that is much harder than saying that. Twenty days ago God showed me what I needed to repent of and how to keep dead. As you die daily your love and view of mankind totally changes. As 1 John said,"When ye walk in the light as He is in the light THE blood cleanses you from ALL unrighteousness and you have fellowship one with another." "Your offended buddies are now your friends again. Joy and peace are more consistant.

What about the old Chuck7?. No he wasn't a fake. My real fruits and works were sincere and of God. The problem was..when you are a Romans 7 man..{ Half dead and half alive} you will not be consistant. You will have episodes of the flesh and cause serious problem. The Romans 7 guy has issues that keep coming back. Since he lives in guilt and condemnation he thinks he's spiritual when he judges others. He is snared. People are very frustating to the Romans 7 man. The Romans 8 man DAILY "mortifys his flesh so that he can be led and walk in obedience to God's spirit." He is consistant and as I said before relationships are restored. The Romans 8 man is free..Free to love and serve with no weird feelings.

Friends..we all must go through this growth cycle and that is why we can have patience one with another.
I sure hopeI made myself clear.
God bless you all.
C7

Dead man walking!
Good post brother. Many times I have said, " You can't hurt me, I am a dead man!"

Default RE: What does it mean to be dead?

Rev,
One thing that all of those old faith walking people had in common ..{ Smith Wigglesworth , John Lake , Katherine Culman etc.} was this...
They didn't mix any kind of money manipulation tacticswith their messages and they were all dead men walking. They took God's Word serious.

My main concern these days is...staying dead. As I'm sure you are aware of..when you get delivered from various habits and vices Satan is ready to tempt you with more. Example, I was tempted to just wonder around Walmart the other day. I went in there and bought nothing. I need nothing. The world loses it's desire more and more everyday. However, the desire to effectually share Christ grows. I stopped the art teacher 2 days ago and shared Christ .He was very interested . Yesterday at our prayer group before school started God's Spirit moved in a glorious way. It was awesome.

Kenneth Hagin once said,"You can be at such a place in Christ where most Christains will dispise you." The religious folks in Jesus day actually hated Him. Jesus said,"If you were of the world, the world would love you." So the cost to be dead is expensive. ..and it is a daily choice not a one time event. Thanks for fellowship Rev. That's what fellowship is all about..encouraging other Christians to continue in the faith.

God bless you and all of yours,
Chuck7
Romans 6: 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
