Hey freinds,
I'm goingto get my colon examed tomorrow. I would appreciate a prayer.. I drank the stuff down that is supposed to make you use the bathroom. Well, it hasn't made me go except once.
I love you guys.

I also sincerely ask for your forgiveness as God has enlightened my spiritual eyes. Please forgive me for the many times I've judged you. I've only recieved commandment from God to love you. He is very able to correct you; you certainly don't need me. I mean this with all my heart.

PS Also ..a big thanks to all who have prayed for me.Teh lord broke through my stiffnecked, rebellious heart and did spiritual open heart surgury. Thanking you 1,000,000 times.

Chuck, Prayers have been made and I re-logged on just to let you know. You have no reason that I know of to ask . .at least my forgivness for if we have had any conflict it's in the past and I have long since failed to consider it.
Your going to be fine however things turn out with your colon. Uh . . .Maybe the stuff you drank will work on you a little later . . .did you tell the Doc how anal retentive you can be? (JK)

I hope you don't mind if a sister says good luck to you, prayers are with you as I have been thru this myself more than once. I also had a colon resection in Dec. for recurrent diverticulitis. I'm doing well. Regardless of what the news is tomorrow, God is with you, he gives no more than you can handle, all thought, I know full well sometimes it doesn't seem that way. And as I have learned ( and probably others here as well can attest to), the worst part of the exam tomorrow is the prep today. As I understand it now, if you fear that cancer is found, 90% of colon cancers today are curable when caught early. I said this only to ease any fear. Will pray for you tomorrow as well. God be with you.

Chuck, once you have gotten through the bowel prep the worst part of a colonoscopy is over. Before they begin the procedurethey will place an IV in your arm and give you two drugs; Fentanyl which is a powerfull narcotic and Versed which is an anti-anxiety drug that will cause what we call anterograde amnesia which means you are unlikely to remember anything that happend while under the effect of the drug. The colonoscopy takes about 15 minutes but you will basically be unaware of the passage of time due to the medication and should feel little or no discomfort. After the test you will be taken to a recovery room where you will be evaluated for about 30 minutes for any adverse effects, which are extremely rare, and then you will be allowed to go home as long as there is someone to drive you.

Right after the test the doctor should be able to tell you if he found any polyps or not. Any polyps found will be removed and sent for pathological examination. If they do find a polyp do not panic. Polyps are common in the colon and the overwhelming majority are benign andare called adenomas. It will take a couple of days to confirm this however. I hope this helps.
