Default Documentary "Jesus Camp"

I don't know why my wife does it. But she always picks these religious documentaries that usually shed a bad light on Christianity off netflix. Well, watched this one last night called "Jesus Camp". I can't say there was anything doctrineally wrong with the video or the pentalcostal youth camp they were showing. I didn't agree with the speaking of tougues of all the children at the same time as that is pretty well documented on how to handle that in corrintheans. But the whole documentary tried to be neutral but at the same time slammed Christianity.

It kept me up late last night thinking about it. Really had conflicting feelings on force feeding these children on what to say and how to say it. Force feeding them on how to pray. I was so lucky in life where I was able to make my decision without any sort of cohersion, or pressure. My salvation was up to God and me.

I believe in planting the seed, but common sense should prevail on how not to overwater or plant too deep.

i have that in my netflix queue. is it worth watching or no?

speaking of movies that bash christianity....i watched "The God who Wasn't There" last night. i thought it was going to be an in depth documentary trying to disprove the historical existance of jesus when it was really just an hour long episode of making christians look stupid. i hate to say it but he did a good job of it.

In relation to our young ones that would make a good topic in itself.

I guess I'd have to see it to really know how this went down but there have been instances where several folks recieved the Holy Spirit at the same time and all spoke in tongues. Actually, being baptized in the Spirit accompanied by speaking in tongues is not the same as excersizing the gift of tongues as spoken of in Corinthians.
If by "force feeding these children on what to say and how to say it" you mean in reference to tongues . .I agree that this is off the wall. I can go along with teaching children how to pray tho.
All in all tho, just like baptizing an infant, forcing a child into a prayer for salvation does'nt amount to conversion.
I'm doing a lot of supposing as to what the movie was all about. I could put it on my queue but as it does'nt seem edifying . . .I think not. It does sound conflicting and we know that God is not the author of confusion.
