Default Tobacco use

Ok, I have been nicatene free for 2 weeks. I have been little out of control. Very cranky. But I am proud of myself. And amazed to see God working in my life. Every once in a while, I get this message in my head, "why are you quitting, there is nothing in God's word that said you have too". I have to keep reminding myself like a person losing thier memory every 5 min.

So I just got back from a men's bible retreat, and came up with a war cry on why I got too keep on keepin on.

I have heard it a dozen times but never saw how it applied. But here my scripture that is going to get me thru this. I never realized how much tobacco has control of my life.
Romans 12
Living Sacrifices
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God"”this is your spiritualact of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is"”his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Congrats Mark! I have been where you are ... good scripture to think of!
Many more that talk about our body being the temple of the Holy Spirit of God .... being bought with a price, and we are not our own .... I will pray that you stay strong!

Congrats man! One day at a time. Sometimes, hr by hr.

I've been smoke free since the end of November. I smoked for 14 years. I'm only 26 BTW. [:-] It has been VERY tough. But greater is He that is in me, rather than what is in those cigs. Gets easier every day. Cigarettes STINK to me now! [X(]

Actually, I must give credit everywhere it's due. So, thanks again Buster T, and ipscshooter for ALL the encouragement. With the bulk of it going to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Oh yeah, my wife too.

Stick with it BC, it has been two years since I have had a dip of skoal or a marlborl light.I chewed 2 to3 cans of skoal a day, sometimes I would even chew and smoke at the same time.At one time they were truly one of my greatest pleasures in life. Now I hardly miss them, it gets easier every day.

That's great Mark. I'll pray for you too. Hopefully, you'll have it completely kicked (so that you're not cranky ) before our turkey hunting trip!

Nicotene gets to be a very large part of your life. If you have made it 2 weeks free of it, you are far beyond the worst part, and just need to remind yourself that it will never be ok to try again or that "I'll be ok with just having one..". Good job.
