Default a problem of mine

I have a problem worrying about what other people feel or think of me.I try my hardest not cause trouble. I do what ever I can to prevent people from being angry or upset with me. I always have a guilty conscience even when I have done nothing wrong, but I feel that there is something wrong.

I know that I should not live my life like this. I should only concern myself on pleasing God. Not concerned on what other people think.

I needed to get that off my chest. If you have any rude remarks thats ok. Am I the only Man that feels this way?

Nope your not alone. I have a different but related issue. I feel the need to confront everyone. Confront the guy that just cut me off on the road. Confront the heating oil guy that I believe just screwed me on filling my oil tanks, confront the orkin man, confront my boss. I have a fear that people will think I am a pushover.

This problem has done nothing but cause me issues. I wish I had a little of your problem. Then add to that, I worry about what people think about me. So in turn, I am my own worst enemy as most of us are. I go out cause trouble, and then look back at the mess I created and try to appoligize.

DK. I pray you find your way.

Here is what gets me thru the day. I pray this every day. I think this might also help you too. Because I believe both of us seeks that peace.

Phil 4:6
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

You're not alone.

I think most people care about how others feel about them. In my profession, I have learned to not care much about how certain people feel about me, but I do value friendships and, like you, want to feel liked by others. It seems to me that those who claim to not care how others feel CAN be somewhat abrasive at times.

Don't take this the wrong way but the first thing that came to mind after reading the post was a funny SNL sketch... Ever seen it? He was on a date with "Debbie Downer"!

Hey man, if we don't laugh at ourselves, we're gonna cry! We all struggle with different issues of personal identity, it really hurts to think that we'redisliked by some individuals. Butthat's life. I know some people don't like me.Sometimes thefolks here get sick of my posts! And you know what, I get sick of theirs sometimes too! It's part of being a community. I consider folks here as friends, even thoughI know I have weirded them out with some of my beliefs. They wierd me out sometimes too! Were all messed up to some extent. It just doesn't matter, God loves us, and wants our best, no matter how good that best may be!

God bless you and I suggest you just laugh at yourself, it feels good to recognize our weaknesses, and let them go!

2 Corinthians 12:10 "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ"™s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

I think this is normal I try my hardest not cause trouble. That is scriptural brother..we are called to be at peace. And yet the paradox is Jesus said a relationship with him would alsocause a sword. Jesus said you would be hated . Peter said"Don't think it strange.when you are hated."The hate is normal as well. I do what ever I can to prevent people from being angry or upset with me.That is good to a certain degree. I just made a teacherscreaming mad at me 45 min. ago .She wanted me to lie and say we had a meeting when we didn't I refusedto give him so she freaked out on me....oh well.I always have a guilty conscience even when I have done nothing wrong, but I feel that there is something wrong. That is not good...brother..the guilty conscience is something you need to work out between you and God...:God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind." I'll be praying for you. I know what your going through..It's horrible,

I know that I should not live my life like this. I should only concern myself on pleasing God.Amen Not concerned on what other people think. yes and no..I don't dwell on people or trying to please them..yet I pray for them and bless them as God leads. Paul said,"If I yet strive to please man I couldn't be a servant of GOd." and yet the paradox is I can servepeople better because my motives are not selfish.

I needed to get that off my chest. If you have any rude remarks thats ok. Am I the only Man that feels this way? I have no rude remarks for you...

Hey we're all concerned with what other people think of us. Wouldn't be healthy people if we weren't. Need to remember though that you can't please everybody and shouldn't really want to.

I find that as the older I get the less I worry what others think or say about me. Chuck can probably agree with me on that, he's even older than me. It might just be we eventualy become comfortable with who we are and what we are not. As a christian it is impossible to please the world and just leads to much frustration when we try.

I don't see myself as a person that worrys at all what folk think of me as long as I'm doing whats right or what I just have to do. The problem I find with this tho is that in my sense of "rightness" I can be totally blind to my "wrongness".
I do care what God thinks of me and I have a great big concience so I will always try to do what is right in spite of myself. My biggest shortcoming I guess is evaluating a person too quick. I'm really not a people person in general and feel most comfortable with kids and the elderly. I prolly come off as lacking patience with most folk in between . . .I'm working on that and am doing better I think.
