RE: god says dont worry
When you get close send me your resume. Man, I look at my first resume, and I wonder how I ever got a job. We are very critical about that. I get close to 20 resumes a week, and they all say the same thing. Just have to shotgun and find the resumes that stick out.
Remember, your not getting a serious engineering job at first, so be realistic when they ask you what you want to do.
Don't ever put constraints on willingness to travel, willingness to do any task put before you. Most of all be clear, but be humble.
I see alot of young guys out of college come in and tell me "I don't want to travel at all" or put constraints on thier travel or work schedule or work they will do. Just get your foot in the door and then you can start with demands. I mean we don't travel too many of our engineers much, if at all. But them coming in there making rules, turns me off.
Bring any type of work material with you. Thermal modeling. Even C++ codes, assembly codes, maybe some cool drawings. Show them, that you have the tools, you just want to learn how to use em by being an apprectice.
Also, do not put anything on that resume that you are not ready to take a test on.
When someone says they can know how to use this test gear or that. I will march them in the lab, and say lets see what you can do. Nothing will kill your moral more than feeling like a idiot. I have been there. It sucks.
Research the company. Find out exactly what they do.
Most people get jobs by know people on the inside. Do anything you can for contacts. Save business cards. Contacts are everything.
