Good morning..i hope you all had a good week and looking forward to a great week=end..the weather here is 73 with a slight breeze blowing..great day the Lord has made..[/align][/align]Heavenly Father, again we thank you for another opportunity to gather together in your name and study thy word..and Father we ask you to be with those who are sick this day and those discouraged and down hearted and that you will reach down your loving arms and comfort them as only you can..in Jesus name we pray, Amen..[/align][/align]I was wondering what i would present to you this week and this morning andas i was reading Psalm 42 the word HOPE in verse 5 and 11 stood outto me so i would like to talk to you awhile about hope..[/align][/align]1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holy day.
5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.[/align][/align]David has had all kinds of problems. He was on the run. He was alone and discouraged. This was his personal "śground zero."ť He"™s been where some of us are today or will be one day... but he longs for the Lord in the midst of his troubles because he knows that's where his hope lies..
first let me explain, hope in the Christians life means certain, sure, confident salvation..in Hebrews 6:18 hope is called an anchor both sure and steadfast and in v.19 a strong consolation..this the very opposite of the way hope is used in everyday conversation because we normally use the word hope to to express something uncertain..HOPE, what a precious word to the born again believer..I love the psalms and how often have you when confused or heavy laden went to the Psalms to find the right word or verse to ease your mind and to lift the heavy burden on your heart? As we watch television and read the newspaper and see the condition the world is in today we say, there is no hope..what i ask, is there to be gained shouting peace, peace when there is no peace and no chance for peace..we are living today in a world full of broken homes, broken hearts and broken hopes..oh how true the statement, the world has gone to pieces..let me tell you, man with all his wisdom and all his plans will not solve the worlds problems..but dear friends, i have news for you..Look up,there is a way out, but only one way, God's way..He and only He is the answer..The bible says in 2 chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." that my friends is our only hope and that should be our prayer, Amen.George Mueller, a great man of faith said. "There never is a time when we may not HOPE in GOD..Whatever the necessities, however great our difficulties,and to all appearances help is impossible, yet our business is to hope in God, and it will be found that it is not in vain. " There is nothing to big or too small for God to handle so go to him in time of need.. remember He said, "Come unto me ye that labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest." and He will, i promise you that..oh He has lifted my burden many a time in my 78 years..what a wonderful Saviour..
I will close with this story of an ole gentlemen who has a close walk with God, who was trudging in from a hard days work in the fields and he was heard giving words of encouragement to his fellow laborers.."An' when He hears yo' sing. He bends down wid a smile on his kin' face and listens mighty keerful, an' He says, "Sing on chile, I hears and i's comin' down to deliber yo: I'll tote dat load fer yo'! jes lean on me and de road will get smoother bime and by." that's our hope, that the road will get smoother by and by..God Bless you all..
Dear Father, thanks again for thy precious word and Father as always if there is one here that does not know you as Savior may this be their day of salvation.. Thank you for you mercy and faithfulness to us and that hope of eternity with you.. in Jesus name and for his sake i pray, Amen.[/align][/align]My hope is built on nothing less
