Friend of mine called me said they were going out to a strip club. I had to say no. I didnt get to hang out with friends tonight but guess better off.
As you grow in your faith you will find your old friends will begin to shy away from you. But as a christian you will have a chance to make friendships with people who truly care about you and your God. I made the mistake as a newer christian of trying to keep my old buddies. This led to me doing all the compromising and giving in to things that made me a very poor example. Sadly we may be the only example of a Christian they will ever know. Way to go my friend. That shows spiritual maturity and you can use it as something to build upon for the next time the temptation comes along. I was addicted to porn for many years, but it was only, and I say again only, through my faith in my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ that I have been able to keep it at bay. Often satan and my sinful self trys to tempt me to look, but I must must must submit to Christ and allow HIM to give me the strength to say NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!
It actually has helped me in this area and many others to ask myself the question, "Would Jesus do this?"
Anyway, good to hear about your choice. And, someday your friends might ask why you chose not to do those things anymore and it will open up a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them.
BTW, by you mentioning your victorious choice here, it has helped me mention on this form that I used to be addicted to porn, so there has been some good for me from you openness. Thank you as I too need this christian support.

Hope you catch a lot and have a wonderful time. You can probably figure out that I fish a lot b/c of my forum name. I only get to go about every other week right now, but I usually go once to twice a week.
Anyway, remember the spiritual tactics of fishing......if you don't catch on one side of the boat, Jesus said to cast on the other side...LOL.

Thank you all it was a hard choice. I won that battle last night many more to fight. was sad didnt get to spend time with friends. i will admit been to those place many times before. each time i walk outihold my head down in shame. It was a good night had some me time. about that same time was going to have a friend over she ditched me said she couldnt come over. i take that as a good sign because i was having doubts if i should go after this girl. now i know it happened all for reason. god bless you all.

After I became saved, alot of friends came to me, wanting me to go do the regular bar scene, or toppless thing. I looked them square in the eye, and said "guys, I live my life by a different set of rules and beleifs now, I hope we can still be friends". It was that easy.
