Default It would be kinda nice...

if I could let my daughter come here to this forum and learn something about religion. She's not a believer but she is interested. But I've had to forbid her to come to this religion forum because of all the hostility here directed at people who might not share somebody's particular beliefs.

I just don't want people hurling fire and brimstone bible verses at her and condemning her because she doesn't share their beliefs. That won't do her any good at all.

Do you have another daughter other than Dixie Rebel? She has represented herself very well. BTW,not all of us are that insensitive. I do know what you are saying though.

I don't know who Dixie Rebel is. My daughter is daddyslittlegirl.

Yes, whatI said doesn't apply to everyone here, but some people seem to take inordinate pleasure in being cruel.

While your post sounds sad on the surface, the reality is that you are responsible for your daughters upbringing till shes of age. This is a religion forum on a hunting site with many different beliefs being represented. What you percieve as hostile may be an earnest attempt by someone to teach a bible truth. If feelings get hurt as often happens just know that it was not a deliberate attempt.

I agree with you to a point. But many places, there are alot of people who get thier feelings hurt over scripture doesn't suit thier lives. And if someone can show you scripture, then its God's word, and no reason for you or your daughter to get thier feelings hurt.

I myself feel this is a poor place for growth. And in some cases, this page has lead me astray. And due to that, my poor witness has probablyled othersastray. Thats my fault for letting it.

If she is not a beleiver, it really is your responsibility to help her along with her belief. Its really the preist of the home's responsibility, but I don't know anything about that. I suggest finding the right group of believers to hang around. I went thru alot of churches before I found one that is truely blessed. They have avenues for anything. Every where I look I see opportunities for growth. And can't say I see one thing that is not sound doctrine.

On the internet, danger is everywhere. It seems the internet is a excellent vehicle for the devil to be roaring devouring anyone he can grasp.

I think there are too many different versions of "Bible Truths" to justify using them as weapons against people.

Thats why God has gave you discernment. My broken path has taken me thru many truths that I believed and was told. And finally, I decided to find out on my own and let the Holy Spirit guide me to what is true.

I appreciate it,but we are trying too. I might be wrong, but are you saying you think thisshould beplace where you learn everything, andwe should agree with all you have to say?I really want to help anyway I can. But its not clear what you desire.

If we didnt' stand firm to our beliefes, they wouldn't be very strong. And if our believes are that weak, then our faith is weak.

cr422, May be you should look at this again from a different view. All you did, didn't, or at least has not until the present time worked or brought about the results you had hoped for. Yet you want everyone to use your methods that resulted in failure. Sweet thing may need a "spirtural" board on the back side to get her attention.
