Default religious friends

The other night sitting around talking with a few friends. I found out that 2 of my good friends I hang out with arent very religious. They question the whole thing of God. One believes that Jesus was just some normal guy. That he wasnt anyone special. I guess have to respect their views. I was so shocked by what they said. I started wondering how many other people are there that are like this. I had other friend well not close friends any more. I got a text message. That said something about Jesus is our savior. That only 3 % of people will send this out. Dont be the 97 % I sent it to a friend. He came back dont send me that s***. Wow blown away again. we used to go to the same church. we were in youth group together. It seems like know one cares about God, Jesus, and religion any more. I feel so bad for these people. what will happen to them when they die? I dont want to sound better then everyone I am just glad I have faith and believe. Wow whats this world coming to?

Your eyes are opeing up my friend. I used to use God's name in vain alot.But//when I began understanding the things of God the darkness appeared utterly dark...Bad words got real loud and teh foolish ways of man became much more vividly clear. God is opening your eyes.

brother, I know what your feeling. I don't have any close friends. I'm in the Army and a Soldier all the time (but first Christian) and its hard to be settled down long enough to make good friends. Yeah, I know a lot of people but I wont call any "friend". I have brothers and sisters in the Lord from my church but we don't hang out like pals. My best friend here is my wife.

I have been on the Army message board that was suppose to deal with Faith, Christianity or religion as you put it and I was shocked at all the non believers. One question that was posted is "how can anyone look at how the world is and believe in God?" I posted back and said "how can you look at the world today and NOT believe in God?" WOW, I was jumped on like white on rice. The athiest hammered me.

I got good advise from the brothers on here on how to handle it. All I can do is to plant the seed.

I feel your hurts brother.
God Bless.

I think you gotta face up to the fact my friend, that most people are not gonna be real thrilled when you tell 'em that if they don't believe what you believe that they are going to spend eternity dog-paddling around in some kind of lake of fire.

I think teaching by example is a better method. Tough though.

there are alot of people who question religious teachings...or religion itself.

i would estimate that at least 25% of my friends are either atheists or agnostics.

the rest consider themselves christians, but probably have not been to church in years, unless it was to attend a wedding.

my best friend had to convert to catholocism to marry his wife, but he has not been to church since....and that's been nearly 5 years.

I question religion too---in fact I detest it! But, the reality of God, His reconciliation to man, separated by his attitude of wanting to be a 'god' unto himself, and to suppress the truth of His authority over him so that he can set uip his own 'shop', while God ,patiently and lovingly initiated steps to bring th erelationship of God and man back to the place He created us for, is a whole different matter. Everyone has their own concepts, ideas, subjectively imposed views about God, but there is always only one truth about anything, and it is no different with reference to God. Our thoughts, opinions, ideas, based on our own highly questionable and suspect motives are just that--opinion, and the fodder on which all 'religion' is based. The truth is found in the objective viewpoint of God Himself, with His ultimate reality being the only basis for any thoughts concerning Him.
