Hmm, no meat? That stinks for catholics. I love meat. Is this written in the "catholic bible? I don't think so. Or any bible? I don't think so again. But anything we deny ourselves for God at anytime, not just lent, is good. I have been without copenhagen since Friday, and just about ready to lose my mind litterly. But its in the Lords hands.

Why??? because that is their convictions and beliefs. That is not hurting no one. { Unless they try ot put their beliefs on someone else.} Catholics refraining from meat does not do any of us any harm.I put rules on myself all the time. It's called practacing discipline. Paul."Buffeted his body as well"

It's like some of us who refrain from TV
Rock Music
Coffee
Alcohol etc.
Tobacco etc.

TOWARD the end of his career as an evangelist, the apostle Paul wrote, "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and enjoin abstinence from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth" (1 Tim. 4:1-3).

abstinence from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth"
A quote from Alex the Hawk

yes...but they are not doing this yearly. This is their partial fast. You andI do our fasting at other times of the year. The only wrong part I see is the outward show of ashes and the broadcasting about what they are given up. But there is simply nothing wrong with self-denial unless we try putting our convictions onto others. It really doesn't effect me one ioda if catholics eat fish or not..."and that's all I have to say about that." Gump
A matter of fact..I'm fixing up a batch of buttermilk specks Friday for real. good eattin man.[8D]
