RE: non believers
I like to lead by example. I listen and refrain from belittling their ideas. Ive found preaching tends to turn them off. I simply speak the truth with out appearing to ram it down their throat. I like to use personal experience. Alot of times they will appear not to have listened, but you will be surprised how you can plant a seed in their mind, as long as you do not turn them off with belittling remarks.

Well I have been a message board that is for Christian believers and there are tons of non believers / athiest that are bashing God. I have done basically what you have stated and they are almost angry and hateful.
But now I see that all I need to do is plant the seed and not argue my beliefs.

RE: non believers
Excuse how I say this but, If you get in a peeing contest with them, thats all that will get accomplished. Some times there is no communicating with the unwilling. It appears the individuals you speak of are trolling the sight. Their mind is set on a task, Bashing Christians that is. Id refrain from even responding to them, other than a loving salutation and ignore their diatribes. They are attacking, turn the other cheek and try to lead by example.
Just my oppinon. Good luck and God bless on your task.

great answer burnie, i have also been asked "what if i'm wrong" my only reply "i know that i am not wrong God is here watching over us, but for the sake of your aurgument, if i ever was wrong what have i lost, i have felt good, things have worked out great and then we die, if your wrong you will regret it far greater than i ever would have while i was alive", thats pretty easy, as for me i believe
also like bernie mentioned, i refuse to argue, but 9 times out of 10 i have had people come back to me and say "you seem so calm and relaxed" and i think, why not God is in control
ya'll have a great day, keith

Emphasis mine. Absolutely right m.t.! I would counter with, "what if you're wrong?"
