Default Obedience question...

How important is obedience to your salvation???

The Lord spoketo my heart very clear about this subject yesterday.
Obedience is everything ...I know in the pass I have compromised with those who say we just simply do our best and blah blah blah...This is a horrible false teaching. We are warned that "He that endureth to the end..the same shall be saved."

"He giveth the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him."

James..."If any man seems religious and cannot control his tongue...this man's religion is vain. "

Again with James.." Faith without works is DEAD ." The demons also believe and tremble."

If you are not being obedient in your daily life your salvation could seriously be in danger.

Paul " Take heed that ye are in the faith."

Jesus " Make the tree good!"

Folks , purpose today to obey. Guard your tongue.. walk as children of God. "If my people will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways ..THEN will I hear from Heaven."

STOP !!! spreading a lie. It is more than a confession..it is obedience.

Galtatians 3:10

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. "

When I use that larger Print to make a point people complain I am shouting. Chuck why is it when things are relatively quiet herewithout much controversy, someone always starts up a post like this to cause division. I you feel your earning your salvation and Christs blood did not die for all your sins, fine. But don't go around calling people who disagree liars, very unchristian on your part.

But Chuck...what about the verses like
no man can pluck you from my hand
sealed to the day by HIs Spirit.

My dear friend..those promices are made tothe obedient..
for "Many are CALLED but few are chosen,"

Folks who love this world gladly cling on to a doctrine that will allow the best of both worlds. A doctrine that shows no responsibility to the believer..

What about whosoever believeth shall not perish.??? The greek word for believeth..means abideth and endureth...

Galtatians 3:10

"For as many as are of the works of the law { OBEDIENCE is not works of the law!!!!!!}are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. "
Serous false misquote..God does not wink at sin...Stop the false teaching Dabowhunter.!!
When I use that larger Print to make a point people complain I am shouting. Chuck why is it when things are relatively quiet herewithout much controversy, someone always starts up a post like this to cause division. Division..my dear brother..obedience will not bring division..rather healing and much blessing.I you feel your earning your salvation and Christs blood did not die for all your sins, Well you are wrong...the obedient life is a fruit .fine. But don't go around calling people who disagree liars, very unchristian on your part.
.....to preach one does not have to obey, abide or endure is a horrible lie and those who preach such things will have to give an account for the many you are falsely leading astray.

Dear friends,
I'm only the messinger..striving to obey. To teach that you can live any old lifestyle and expect to be saved is horribly false. "Many will say Lord ,Lord and he will profess I never knew you."

To sit back and say nothing { TO not rock the boat} is horrible. I will most likely leave this thread alone as I have quoted enough verses already.
The gospel is ...Repent and Believe /Obey the gospel .

God bless..

Chuck7; Much of the contention with myself and certain others have centered around this idea, or lack of it. It is a joy to see that a little light is filterings through the cracks. This isn't as simple as it appears though. It is very possible to go to far in the other direction as well. Let me offer a little advice, you can take it or leave it, it is up to you. Approach this as if you were putting the stalk on a record book buck. Advance slowly. Make sure that even the smallest step is placed exactly in the right spot. Don't waste time rushing into an area only to find that you have to retreat and approach from a different angle. Sometimes, slowly is the quickest way to get there.

To obey is better than sacrifice. What good is it if I say I love God and say I follow God, but never obey Him? That makes me FAKE. God wants the heart to be true to him and this occures through obedience. If I want to follow God, I obey what He says. If I want to follow God and don't obey, I must truly examine my heart to see if I "really" want to follow Him.

Approach this as if you were putting the stalk on a record book buck. Trust meSnooky...love is the goal of my life and i did not enjoy talking to Dabowhunter like that...Instead of the stalking ofa buck ..which was a very grea tanalogy I instead ..saw folks walking around LAND MINES..and I'm screaming.PLEASE Stop where you are at...we are in great danger.I would loveto have the praise of Dabowhunter..However; my friend the truth is I am responsible for my influence of the gospel. The message is truly Obedience....Advance slowly. Make sure that even the smallest step is placed exactly in the right spot. Don't waste time rushing into an area only to find that you have to retreat and approach from a different angle. Sometimes, slowly is the quickest way to get there.

I will think about what you have said Snooky...to be honest..I had Fred in my mind. The others have already crystalized their theological thoughts anyway. I actually wrote this for the sake of Fred and for me to publically repent of my luke warm theology. It all started last week as i've been pouring out my heart to God for more understanding. Yesterday He spoke very clear to me , I knew this from the beginnning but through the years have compromised and adopted a doctrine that would compliment my lukewarmness.

I'm sorry....I repent...One of the things God showed me was all the folks I met who were always walking in the spirit had one thing in common. They were obedient Christains. I want to be in tha tnumber..The number of the obedient.

PS When I picture Dabowhunter I see him with that huge deer and bow in hand. I would certainly love to get and stay on his good side.But...eternity is very seriuos and I think any doctrine besides obedience is not of God. I can no longer compromise the truth worrying about offending a fellow hunter. As a person I love Dabowhunter..I do hate false doctrine though with a passion.

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

Mt 12:50

46 "Why do you call me, "Lord, Lord," and do not do what I say? 47 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
John 14:15

23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.
Jn 14:23-24

10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father"s commands and remain in his love.
Jn 15:10

Now keep in mind that these are the words of Jesus ONLY. There are calls to obedience in many other NT writtings. Also, these are just a small sampling of the calls to obedience that Jesus spoke about.

I'm not a theologian or a scholar, but the fact that these are the words of our Lord, this call to obedience appears to be pretty simple.

1 John 2:3-5 "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him."

1 John 5:3 "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome."

We show God our love for Him BY our obedience to His commands.

Is there ANY other scriptural way to show our love to God than by our obedience?
