[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Jesus said, "he who stands firm to the end will be saved" Mark 13:13.
Live Life in such a way that those who do not know Christ will come to know Him because they know you
Think on this...if you sleep before seeing the Lord Chirst or you go directly to be with him...is it any less glorioua?
It doesnt matter when or where Heaven is. It doesnt matter what Heaven looks like. What matters is that Christ will be there. What matters is that I can claim I will be there. Heaven could be the worst slum ever imagined...if Jesus is there, it is all good.
I suggest we let the important details for God to work out. I am willing to bet he can figure it out better than I can.

I wrote this on my web page many years ago..it's just a small part of what the bible says about Heaven.
Heaven I had the privilege of teaching the second through seventh grade Sunday school class for several years. I also taught a Bible class for many years. And in those years I have been asked many questions about heaven. Questions such as - Is heaven a real place? When I die will I go immediately to heaven? Will we know each other in heaven? What will we look like? Will we have a body? These answers are not my opinion, but what the Bible says. The Bible says that heaven is a real, literal place. "In my Fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a PLACE for you, and if I go and prepare a PLACE for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:2,3. So heaven is a place. Twice Jesus called it that. The last two chapters in the Bible, Revelation 21 and 22, tells of this wonderful PLACE that Jesus is preparing for His saints, it's called "the holy city." Heaven is a place of indescribable beauty. I Corinthians 2:9 - "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." Heaven is a place of rest, peace, joy and love. YES, heaven is real!! Yes, when we, who are saved, die, we go immediately to heaven. II Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." On a tombstone in London, England were found these words- Beneath these clouds, and beneath these trees. Lies the body of Solomon Peas, This is not Peas, only his pod, Peas has shelled out and gone home to God. There is no purgatory, or holding place written about in the Bible. As Mr. Peas, we go immediately to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Glory be to God!!! Yes, we will know each other in heaven-- Jesus said, "When ye shall see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God." On the mount of transfiguration, Moses and Elijah knew each other. The disciples recognized them. The rich man in hell recognized Lazarus and Abraham when he saw them together in heaven. "For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face, now I know in part, but then shall I know even as also I am known." Yes, dear friend, we will have a body in heaven- II Corinthians 5:1 " For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." Here He is talking about our earthly body, and our heavenly body. When we die, our earthly body will be buried. If we are saved, our soul and spirit will go immediately to be with the Lord. When Jesus comes at the rapture, I Thess. 4:16 says, "The dead in Christ shall rise (come out of the grave) and meet Jesus in the air, then we will receive our new body, a perfect body, and will live with our Lord forever. Amen!!! Job says in Job 19:26 "And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God."
The most important questions is, who is going to heaven? Some say those who read the Bible, or those who pray, or live a good moral life, will go to heaven. Others say those that go to Church and tithe will make it. But Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus went to the cross, suffered, and shed His precious blood, and died for you and me. The Bible says, without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." The only way to be sure of going to Heaven is to repent of your sins, received Jesus Christ into your heart, receive Him as your personal Saviour, receive Him as the one who died for you. Salvation is free!

In the Old testament the word Heaven was never a man's destination,The Most a jew shot for was paradise where Abraham awaitedFor you.
Jesus parable of The rich and the poor beggard Lazarus shows the Rich man going to torment in hell, while Lazarus went toAbraham's boosom.
The epistles Of Peter reveals that when Christ died he did not ascend to heaven but went down to the Pit under the earth and he preached to the ONCE DISSOBEDIENTSouls from the flood, then he gathered all from hell and Paradise and he took paradise into the heavenlies to await his return and the transformation at the resurrection and the rapture, these people were very much awake, if they heard christ preached to them, the Richman and Lazarus were awake, one receiving rewards and the other punishment.
So since Paradise is at the heavenlies where the city of Sion is and will descend to earth, one can they say Am going to heaven, but it is not the third Heavenwhere GOD dwells.
In the Bible there are 3 clear heavens described, Sages describe 7, the Number 7 being where God Dwells.
The otherones are different levels of existances.
In Revelations Chapter 6 , we see a scene that reads;
6:8And behold, a pale horse, and he who sat on it, his name was Death. Hades followed with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to him.
6:9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the Word of God, and for the testimony of the Lamb which they had.
6:10They cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, Master, the holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"
6:11A long white robe was given to each of them. They were told that they should rest yet for a while, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who would also be killed even as they were, should complete their course.
That is how the KJV reads, but in other Greek translations it says and I looked down and beneath the altar I saw the souls of those..........
So we see the souls and a lower level awaiting revenge, they were beneath the altar, yet they were cloth with white robes and very much awake ifthey are asking for revenge.
These were not the church, care to guess who they were ?

To be absent from the body, is to be in the presence of the Lord. As is stated above. (If you're saved that is) < This is the most crucial part ofcourse. But, I guess it is open for discussion I guess.(The dead in Christ shall rise first) As long as we're saved, what difference does it make though? I'm gonna be there. Hope to see ALL of ya'll there too!
