Default Cancer, why always the good people?

I have lost two really close family members and my dad is about to lose his best friend due to cancer. All of this in a span of three years. First was my grandfather, 69, who dies of lung cancer and was gon within 2 months of them discovering it. Next, my uncle, at 60 died of cancer in his throat. Finally, my dad's friend has it all through him at 46 years old and it's the worst kind. He's going downhill fast.

All three of these people are the best people you could ever meet. Always thinking of others before themselves and would do anything for anybody. So why them? Why so fast? Why so many? Why not the bastards who rape children, or steal, or murder? You ALWAYS hear about it being good people. I don't understand why God let's this happen and why so frequently to good people. This is the only subject I question Him on, and I will ontinue to do so. I don't believe it's right.

Anyone have any possible explanation for this? I'm sure you all have a relative or friend or even yourself in the same situation....

Cancer happens to bad people too...but no one cares enough about it to talk.

Unfortunately in a fallen world, people have to deal with things like death and diseases. We did it to ourselves...God doesn't will that anyone perish due to cancer, but he could have a plan in store for whomevers life to where the cancer is overcome or might not be.

What it comes down to, is crap happens to good people...

Why did my wife leave me? I don't know, but she did. Here I am alive and have a testimony because of it. Perhaps your Dad's friend will be healed of the cancer, by God, or through medicine procedures.

Bad things always happen to bad immoral people...but like I said, no one loses sleep over it.

It's just a crappy fact of life. Quite frankly, I'm ready for the next place I'm going...

Lord come quickly.

Death is a mystery to man. Always have been. But thru hardships, sometimes God needs to do things to break us. To remind us to depend on him. And when one seeks God and to live for God's will, your will be going to a place that makes this place look really bad. Maybe God has used one of these special individuals to get a family members attention, or bring them closer to him. I have diabetes real bad, and my liver is on the fritz, and litterly lost millions of dollarsand thank God in Heaven for this. Without these hardships, I would have never came to Christ. And eternal salvation is alot more important than this life and the fun we have in it.

As the apostle Paul says, we should look forward to our Spiritual clothes. Not cling so tightly to this world. Those who love the world might not be in the kingdom of Heaven. As Jesus says.

Where is your citizenship? We are in the world but not of it. Our home is in Heaven. Do you really believe this?? Then why question God, his plan, what he allows ect.??
I don't expect to excape this world alive unless it is in the catching away of the redeemed. When my appointed time comes, some means of death will stop this flesh from functioning. When the doctor told me he was going to kill me, remove my heart, put part of my leg into it and try to jump start me again, there wasn't any panick. Just do what has to be done and if it fails, I've prepared for this all my life. I'll just go on home. When 2 of the bypasses completly plugged up again and Doc said he couldn't do anything else and I would have to live with it, nothing new. I have been living with it before he told me about it. Then he said the lump on the prostate was cancer. Big deal, 90% of men have some sort of cancer. I have really let it slow me down, just picked up 2 more pups a couple of weeks ago. Been lion hunting half dozen times already this year. Treed a 4-5 coons at night while hunting alone on the river. Can't wait till bear season opens again so These hounds can earn their keep. The church still ribs me about holding them so long with the preaching and teaching.
Why complain, life is great if you let it be. There is too many blessings to dwell on the few bumps in the road.

Snook ... a few thoughts ... why would you kick a brother when he is down? When things happen to people we love, it's harder emotionally for most people than when it hits ourself. The letter of the law killeth ... but the spirit giveth life ....

jhalf .... some things we wont know until we get to Heaven .... I will pray for God to strengthen you through this hard time .... he keeps each tear in a bottle. He cares that you are hurting and wants you to trust Him ... He will get you through this ... our ways are not His ways, neither are our thoughts His thoughts .....

Jeff cancer is an ugly thing. I buried my wife on what would have been our 30th anniversary in 2000. She was an awesome, loving caring lady that loved the lord, in-fact one time she saw Jesus.

Theolder we get we will see more and more friends and family die of various things. I don't believe that God wishes any of us to die this way, however we have become slaves to our environment and our physical bodies.

Yes cancer is ugly, but in most cases death is not very pretty. I just choose to believe that cancer is just another vehicle in which we can be united with out Heavenly Father.

I have to lost people I knew well to cancer. I do also question why it seems like good people always get sick and die. Everything happens for a reason.

I don't believe God micro-manages ......... you are here on this earth, each of blessed in individual ways. Its up to you, to use what God gave you and live your life best you can.

People who smoke and die of cancer brought it on themselves. People who've never taken care of their bodies ? Same. Most often there is cause and effect to why the person had cancer. Sometimes not ........ but most often IMO the root cause of cancer is of the persons own doing.

God doesn't pick on you by losing your job, having a miscarriage, stumping your toe, twisting your ankle, crashing your car ........ or giving you cancer.

I'm somewhat of a anti-science, anti-medicine mind though, please understand that. I believe doctors cure very little if anything. I believe doctors have no intrest in curing illnesses, afterall, there is no money in that, is there ? I believe the root cause of cancer in todays world is our lifestyles closely followed by - food. But those are my beliefs .......

I totally agree with you Buster! Myyoungest brother-in-law was a Deacon, never Smoked and never Drank alcoholic drinks of any kind.....but every piece of Meat and Fish he ate, he Smoked in his Smoker.

He was 53 when he died of Colon Cancer which had gone to his Liver.

Rebel Hog Natural smoke isn't nearly the same as cigarette smoke, and breathing smoke isn't the same as ingesting meat that has been smoked.

I'll take a wild boar, smoked for 6 hours with natural seasonings anyday over a piece of farm raised pork that was fed bio-feed, confined to a small nasty penned area, injected with hormones then sliced, breaded with bleached flourand fried in a skillet of canola oil !
