Monday morning, our church's secretary's son went duck hunting wtih two of his friends. They went out into the Old River/Anahuac marsh in their 16ft jon boat with a 25hp motor. Once they got to the hunting blind, they put out the decoys and waited for the duck to come buy. After a few minutes, they noticed the decoys blowing out into the bay because the strong north wind was blowing from the approaching front. One guy say he would take the boat and go get the decoys.
At this time, the decoys were out of site in the bay which was covered with fog. That was around 7am on Monday morning. By 11am, the secetary's son was so cold, he waded in chest deep of 50 degree water to the shore and used his cell to call for help. To make a long story real short, his friend is still missing and the boat was found by the Coast Guard capsized, but he is still missing.
The temp is in the low 30's and the water temp is in the high to low 50's. The wind is blowing about 15mph and it is raining/sleeting. So, as you can tell, this is not a good situation. He was wearing neoprene waders and a heavy coat. The area where the boat was found is 5-7 ft deep. This is an area that I fish at a lot.
The chances of survival is very low since it has not been about 58 hours since he has been missing. He is 24 years old and his name is Matt Hoover.
Please lift him, his family and friends up to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. This situation is requiring a miracle for him to be found alive. I will be going out in the morning with one of my boats to help for the search. Thanks for the prayers.
