I am not the most religious person in the world. There are times say I have been out late with friends and had a few to drink. Alot of the time I just thank God that I dot home safely. It makes me think I am not very religious but God got me home safely that I should be more religious. I dont know anyone else feel sort of the same.

Thank you chuck but I like to drink there have been times when I would say I have been drunk. The other night I was to drunk to drive so I stayed at friends house till I was okay. Any how yes it says drunkness is wrong. What is drunkness? Is it one beer, two and so on. You say you shouldnt drink at all. I like to have two or three just to calm things down. Now am I really drunk at this point. Nope I am not really drunk but I am calmer. What is drunkness really?

If you need it to "calm" you down, yea, its a snare, big time. If you are at a BBQ, and a friend offers you a cold one, no big deal.
Let me put it this way, if you were ata dinner or something would you drink 6 cans of coke or your fav. softdrink? No, so why are you drinking 6 cans of beer?
We all have snares in our life just as bad as beer. Obviously this is one of yours. For me, I can't say its ever been a snare. Mine is chewin tobacco and drinking coffee.
Fred, the answer has always been the same since you came asking questions, you got to evaluate the reasons you do things, and decide to do things for God or not. To believe or not. We all will have sins to answer for when we get to heaven.
Some love black and white rules. They can't stand the such greyness of God's salvations. I bet thats the reason God gave jews the law. And even with such black and white reasoning, the jews had such trouble with it, and twisted it to a sinful thing.
One on here can't tell you, you are doing wrong, just because they don't do things. I see posters on here who just as bad prideful things on here as I would say drinking a beer. Including myself.

I thank you for everything chuck I have learned a few things from you. Will I ever stop drink probably not. Have I slowed down and not getting wildly drunk all the time yes I have. About the porn thing I have not looked up any for some time now. So am glad I winning that battle right now.

deer ..... Alcohol starts to effect you immediately ... otherwise it wouldn't effect you at all. What you said is true ..... what is drunkeness? Since it begins with the first sip and builds on that, we should realize God is not for us drinking at all..... make sense?

I didnt mean this to get into talking about drinking. Tony what you said does make sense. How many of us come home from work have one beer and just fall asleep. Many times I have done that. In that I dont see anything wrong. Now I have been very drunk and done other sinful things now thats drunkness in my eyes. The bible doesnt say anything about thou shall not drink alcohol. It just says you shouldnt get drunk.
