Chuck now that you have discovered that;

Angels can have the earthly body function of eating food, is it not possiable for the fallen angels spoken of earlier in Gensis to have mated with women? Or even earlier humanoid creatures being off-spring of fallen angel/animal matings? The ones science refers to as early man.
We know that Satan had already fallen before Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden.
It could have been eons of time before Adam's time. The bible doesn't say one way or the other.

With the first true pure man being Adam.

What evidence would we be likely to see if the above were the case;

Fossils from any number of humanoid creatures. Likely examples of limited intellegence such as simple tools and crude paintings. The normal slow ramping up of intellegence levels. Some humanoids more successful than others.

If there was the sudden influx of a pure human dna that was as smart as the fallen angels (Adam's off-spring) mixed with the dna of the fallen angels what would likely be the result.

A sudden burst in the level of human intellegence. Examples of metal working. Examples of Music making. Building of Cities.
The same exact examples science un-covers. The exact same examples spoken of in early Genesis.

Plot out the rate of humanoid developement and see what it does right around the time the Bible says that the fallen angels were mating with Adam's off-spring.

I am not saying that is the way it happen, but it is biblical and possiable.
And it does fit the evidence that we have avaliable to us.

IMHO This was 2 separate accounts. Account one. Three men appeared to Abraham. I believe these to be spiritual en.In the proceeding chapters we are told God visited and talked with Abraham. It doesn't make it clear if these men were actually theophanies{ God appearing in the form of a man} or angels.

IMHO I believe the 2 angels in the Lot account are wha tthe Bible reads...two angels. that the residents wanted to have sex with.

I know you've got quite a few pages before the new testament. John 20:19-22. Read this and ponder a few things. One, this is Jesus after His ressurection. John takes the effort to mention that the doors where closed. After that he simply says Jesus "came". So did He just materialize?
(As an Angel or purely spiritual being would? I realize that He was the Son of God and, being such, could do just about anything He pleased. But this certainly wasn't His practice or example while on earth.)
Second, he (John) says He "breathed on them". A spirit isn't required to carry out the life processes that they teach us about in grade-school science. One of these is Respiration (or removal of waste) Soooooo....the question is: Did/does Jesus need to breath? If not, how much more humbleing is it that our creator would go out of his way to breath on His Diciples and impart the Holy Ghost?

And lastly (this is the part I love) In Genesis God breathed life into Adam. He was told that he would die if he ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. (I quess we all know how that went) I personally believe there was a type of death that occurred there. A spiritual death. In the Gospel of John, now that the redemptive work is down He once again breathes life (Holy Spirit) into his disciples!!!

I agree whole heartedly, I just wanted to open some eyes to the fact that the main-stream reading isn"™t the only biblically correct reading possible.

You have done well to remind everyone to keep their thinking caps on in evaluating these unusual readings.

To answer your question to Chuck if you don"™t mind;

I believe he did. I use the example of the Apostle that was in prison and the Angel appeared at his side and woke him up. The prison gates opened of their own accord to allow the Apostle to walk through. The gates didn"™t need to open to allow the Angel to pass through or else they would have been open from when the Angel first entered.

Just the same as the Angel was able to enter through locked gates, I believe Jesus entered through the locked doors.

What Snooky wrote is not a Bible verse. He wrote them together..but they are not in the same chapter. I'm sure he knows what he is doing but I just wanted to let other readers understand the above {In green}is not together in the same chapter.
Fact ,there is no mention of angels inchapter 18.They are two separate chapters. It says Abraham prepared a meal for 3 men { Angels, theophanies who knows} The Lot account was a separate account.

After Abraham entertains his guest then Abraham is conversing with God about SPARING Sodom. Remember , he talks God into saving the city for "just 10 righteous men} Ten righteous men were not found THEN...next chapter ..God sends 2 angels down to deliver Lot and his family BECAUSE Lot was Abrahams relative. So this was a later event.
