Folks, with all the extra chores of the normal Holiday doings + The extra doings of a business that is growing to point it needs larger digs + the extra doings of moving and setting up the new place + the extra doings of calming the masses that attend the HNI Chapel services located just up the street from the Y-all-Swing-In-Political saloon I believe LBR"S life is just getting a little too boring.
I was trying to think up some topics that might help liven up his life a bit.[8D]
Home made prone with the husband and the wife"is it less sinful than the store bought kind?[8D]
Is using your neighbor"s cat as a free-will offering allowed? [8D]
Breast feeding infants" should it be allowed on the front 2 rows of pews?[8D]
Is referring to the tail-bone of a fried chicken as a "Preacher"s Nose" still in bad taste?[8D]
What color stained glass reflects the morning sunlight the best on the blue haired- hard of hearing old women that sit near the front in order to hear better?[8D]
When paying back the money you borrowed from the collection plate two Sundays ago".do you have to pay back interest as well?[8D]
When you put in an IOU in the collection plate and thump the bottom of the pan"is it sinful to thump loudly in order to make folks think you gave a larger donation than the 10 cent IOU that you gave?[8D]
How long is an IOU in the donation plate good for?[8D]
Inquiring minds need to know.
Everyone do their part and help.
I am sure there are some topics I have over looked.
Thanks

Bless your heart Dave. I was begining to think everyone had lost their sense of humor. I thought a light-hearted thread might do us all some good after the recent tensions.
I was expecting things to be posted in a tounge in cheek fashion like for question one;
The answer to the first question is;
Ask your husband and wife neighbor to close their blinds, filming them is wrong even if you are doing so from the privacy of your on back window.
Thanks

Is using your neighbor"s cat as a free-will offering allowed?
This has both a yes and no answer. It is considered bad taste to place the cat in the offering plate during the SUNDAY MORNING service. Any other time is alright, as is the also time honored method of tossing the cat into the woods for the blessing of other creatures created by God. [8D]

Gee, thanks Mark (I think)! Man alive I'm paying for playing over the holidays! I took time off from pretty much everything to do things with my son, then went so far as to to hunting yesterday. It was nice to sit in the woods, and even though we (my buddy and me) didn't see anything there, we still got some meat. That was weird to say the least. We were headed out before daylight, and almost to where we park the truck when we both saw a deer lying on the side of the road. Richard said "that deer is still alive!". We backed up, and sure enough the yearling was alive--now what do we do? It was obviously about gone, but I've heard enough horror stories about folks getting hurt by "dead" deer that I wasn't going to just jump in and cut it's throat.
Since Richard had a muzzleloader and I had my bow, I was voted to dispatch it. The deer never reacted when shot--at all--obviously in shock. We finally loaded it up and when we skinned it, it was clear it had been struck by a vehicle. By the time we headed back to the woods it was good light, saw several deer on the road going and coming back, but nothing in the woods. Still, we had fresh venison backstrap for lunch. I told Richard (who cooked it) that it was some mighty fine eating, especially for road kill.

LBR I enjoyed your post. Of course you know when I retell your tale I am going to have to change it up a bit.
LBR and his buddy ran over a poor little deer with a pick-up truck. The poor little wounded deer was bleating so loudly that LBR"s buddy was going to shoot it with a muzzle-loader. LBR stepped out and told his buddy to hold the spot-light still and he would show him how to kill a deer with a Long Bow. After all only real men shoot Long Bows. LBR"s buddy was a little worried that the broad head might cut the rope tied around the deer"s neck that was keeping the deer secure to the power pole framed in the pick-up truck"s one working head light.
LBR told his buddy to just stand back and watch. LBR took 5 long steps away from the deer and turned and shot. Three arrows later the mighty hunter had done his work.
All that was left to do now was to take the 40 pound fawn in to town and have it mounted and placed in a place of honor over the black sooty stove pipe.
LBR"s place among the legends was now secure. Year before last it was the feared White-Footed Deer mouse that fell to LBR"s bow. Last Year it was Ole Slew-Foot the one eyed possum. This year it was the Night of The Un-Dead Deer.
Glass" will be raised, toasts will be made, men will step aside and young women folks will swoon.
LBR will just tip that old fedora hat and say in his South Mississippi drawl, "Shucks weren"t nuttin".
You knew I would have to dress it up a bit LBR. LOL.[8D][8D]
Very glad you and your"s are doing well. I hope everyone has had a chuckle from this thread.
Thanks

Man, you just ain't right! The bad part is some of that story is true! I was maybe 5 steps from it when I shot it (hey--it was dark and it was suffering--sure didn't want to make a bad shot, and it was a small target). It didn't weigh much over 40# either (maybe 60, and that's being optimistic).
Only one arrow though, and no mount (we ate most of it that day--lot of the meat was ruined by whatever hit it). I don't wear a Fedora--usually don't wear any hat because they don't fit my melon head (had to get a college football helmet in 4th grade), although I do have one I ordered from Noggintops that fits (think it's an 8 5/8).
Oh yeah--I did shoot a possum not too long ago with my bow (in the back yard), and you are right--it takes a "real" man to shoot a longbow![8D]
