Default Can election be something like foreknowledge

When God speaks of "The Elect" could it posible be that God knows already in advance who are truly HIs?
I thought about this as I came across this verse this morning .
in Gen. 15:13And [God] said to Abram, Know positively that your descendants will be strangers dwelling as temporary residents in a land that is not theirs [Egypt], and they will be slaves there and will be afflicted and oppressed for 400 years. [Fulfilled in Exod. 12:40.]

God knew way in advance about the famine in Israel , Joseph becoming 2nd in command, the mean Pharoah who would be a serious slave driver...even to to the exact years of bondage..400. We can be confident that "he which has begun a good work in us will complete that work. In Bible college we simply called this preknowing .God is all knowing. The elect would certainly be the ones God already knows.ForHe says, "All that are taught of the Father come to me."

I think it probably is just that. God know the end from the beginning, He knows who will accept Him and who will not. Those who DOplace their faith inHim are called "the elect." For quite a long time, I've felt that this is probably how"predestination" is done. It doesn't make anyone choose one way or another and doesn't take away our freewill. The fact that God knows in advance what will happen doesn't mean that He decided who would and wouldn't have eternal life with Him, it just means He knows it beforehand.

Chuck, God knows the number of the hairs on your wife"™s head as well as the number of her days. God knew when and where and into what family she was going to be born. God most certainly knew this information even before the creation of the world. God most certainly knew if your wife was going to be among the saved even before the creation of the world.

Thanks

To suggest that God knows who will "accept" Him is still to suggest that God is not Sovereign. The Scripture is very clear. Man was Chosen to be saved , and accepted by God, to please God...........

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Then are you suggesting that God does not know who will choose Him.

Then You are saying that God is not all knowing.

Then you are saying that God is not the one true God, because the God of the Bible knows the past, presant, and future.

Man was chosen to be saved, all of mankind. And whosoever believeth SHALL NOT PERISH. YOU ARE RIGHT BL...

God chose us to be saved......man decides wheather or not to accept this election. Great way to put it BL..... I like that.

God Bless
