Folk sI feel God leading me to read His Word through this year in a study form and not in a race pace. When I have a question that I don't have a clue...I will post it. I'm strictly posting these questions to learn.
Question One.
Gen.3:14Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
15And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
Who are these whosoever.?.The way I see it there are only a few here at this time on planet earth.Adam, Eve, and Cain and possibly some sisters. Seth comes later.
AND...
Who are the sons of God that can have sex wiht human beings?
Gen.6:1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Chuck, the daughters of man were impregnated by the angels of Satan. Cain was protected so that his seed could serve Gods Purpose in His Plan of Salvation for True Believers. Cain represents the unsaved of the world.

I also agree!

Thanks Bill and Reb,
Men, It was my understanding that angels did not have sexual organs. I guess I misinterpreted that from. "When you go to Heaven you will be as the angels." The context was the lady who had 7 husbands and she didn't lknow which would be her husband in Heaven. I beleive a scribe asked Jesus that question. You fellows know your Bible so there's no sense in me looking it up.

I think that this is a major contradiction in the Genesis story. Reading Genesis up to the point where Cain slew Abel the only other people who should be on Earth are Adam and Eve. However, suddenly there are a lot of people all over the world.Who are they andwhere did they come from?
After Cain murders Abel, he is sent out of God's presence to be a 'fugitive and a vagabond' and goes to live in the Land of Nod - where he it says, 'he knew his wife' and she concieved'. So it seems that Cain got his wife from the Land of Nod..and there is no hint of incest in his story. I think the answer is that there were other men and women beside Adam and Eve but that they were made special by God who put them in Eden.
In Genesis chapter 4, it says men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born to them...and that the 'sons of God' saw the daughters of men that they were fair and they took them wives of all which they chose.' I think that 'sons of God 'where descendants of Adam and Eve..started to take wives of the 'daughters of men'..which were 'mankind' that had been outside of Eden.
We have laws that protect against intermarriage now, and traditions bred into our thinking that make incest abhorrent to us.. but maybe in ancient times it wasnt so abhorrent. Sarah was actually Abraham's half sister. She was his father's daughter though they had a different mother.
Lot was Abraham's nephew and after Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed, he lives alone in a cave on a deserted plain with his two daughters who realise that there are no men that they can marry and have children by. So they decide get their father drunk and each concieves a child by him.. Moab and Ben-am-mi who became the founders of the Moabites and the Ammonite nations. What is unacceptable to us now was maybe more acceptable in ancient times and incest was maybe not thought of as being as bad then as it seems to us now.

Does this mean that Adam and Eve were not neccessarily the first two people on Earthbut were actually onlytwo of many people who were alive at that time? Were they unique simply because they were the only ones selected by God to live in the Garden of Eden while many others lived outside it?
There are two accounts of the creation of mankind in Genesis. In chapter one, it says ''God said, 'let us make man in our own image, after our likeness...So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, created he him; male and female created he them.' If this were the only account in the bible, the answer to the question would be simple..God created many men and women, not just a man and then a woman..as happens in the second account of the creation of man in Genesis chapter 2.
Here it says 'God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.' Then in verse 18 'And the Lord God said, 'It is not good that man shall be alone, I will make him a help meet for him.' And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them.'...'but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto man.'
I really think that God made many men and women, but that he took Adam and put him in the garden of Eden and made him and then Eve special because God breathed His spirit into them and so they became spiritual beings. I think this is the sense in which they were in 'God's image.' - but these are only my own thoughts and I may well be wrong. Adam and Eve were driven out of Eden after they fell..and so I think maybe had to live with the rest of mankind that were really wild and uncivilised.

Who really knows who exactly it was that would have killed Cain or who were the sons of God that can have sex with human beings?
One could speculate that Cain was worried that the sons of Abel would kill him. Then one would also have to speculate that the world had already been populated quite a bit since Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden. At any rate . . . .we are not given expressly who would have killed Cain or where they come from.
Likewise, with the sons of God and the daughters of men. There are therories as to who the sons of God could have been . . . .again, we are not expressly told who they were. Are they fallen angels? Are they the godly line of Seth? Are they Kings? Who really knows going strictly by Scripture?
Certain things "click" in my mind, but I would'nt preach it. Your questions a "head scratcher" for sure and folk have been speculating on the answers to them for some time now . . .I don't see anything solid or pertinant resulting from their therories tho.

Rebel G. Hog
I honestly think this makes the most logical sense Reb.
Folks , I'm not asking these questions to gender doubts for none of us would ever turn away from God because we have His faith in us. We know no other life. I do believe Rebs theory makes the most sense. Obviously there were other people on the earth. It just shows me that there was probably more going on than what is recorded.
