curious what ya'll think ......... I see SO many "saved" Christians eat like boar hogs in a corn patch with belly's far bigger than 9 months along ........ I always think to myself how terrible that they cannot recognize that and do something about it.
John Hagee is the poster child for obsese ministers
I think it is, and it is overlooked as a sin more than even divorce. Gluttany is one of my personal struggles. In fact, just before reading this post, I was going to raid the 'fridge. I'm not going to do it now. I'm going to wait for dinner.
Yes , it's a fruit of selfishness, greed and lust. I know because I am one. I'm also on day 42 of a partial fast killing that nasty spirit and it is working. Resist the devil and he shall flee. Thousands of people upsetted God because of their longing for quail instead of manna and their lust caused them to not enter in to the promice land. These were the same folks who made an idol and were acting crazy at the base of the holy mountain.
This fat man agrees with you and is putting action to my sorrow with the help of the Holy Spirit. Gluttony is a very bad testimony.
"We are to let our moderation be known to all men.the Lord is at hand."
There are many , many things that of themselves are not sins, but the Bible does state that anything , other than worship of our Lord, that is done to excess is sinful. If for no other reason than we are putting somethingahead of God. So yes, gluttony is a sin, but thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ and Jenny Craig, it is not unpardonable...
God Bless
P.S. - Lord, I really don't eat that much... I just look like it.
If for no other reason than we are putting somethingahead of God. Michael

Phil. 3: 18(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
20Do not come to be among heavy drinkers of wine, among those who are gluttonous eaters of flesh.
9What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God"™s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God"™s kingdom.
runkard and a glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe one with mere rags.
so as Christians how can we allow ourselves to become fat ?
Can you see the truth of a persons "faith" in their obesity ?
Do you look at a fat person and think, "There's a siner because they are fat..."
You can look at any person and think, "There's a sinner because ..."
We all struggle with one form of sin or another. You can't jusdge a person on how they look, because you don't know if they are doing anything about it or not.
My concern is that fat Christians may not even know gluttany is a sin, as it is such a "swept under the rug" sin these days.

This is where I draw the line. I'm allowedto judge myself but not others. There could be health issues invoved in the weight. There could also be other issues needing more attention in one's life. I'm allowed to be hard on me but everyone has to answer before God themselves..UNLESS they actually come out and ask me for advice. ..I look beyond the weight and into the windows of their soul...their eyes.
