I am not sure how to explain this but I will try. I want to do whats right here on earth so I can get into heaven. There are so many things that are wrong basically sinful that are say fun to do. Examples drinking to much, porn, sex before marriage, etc. Sometimes church can be a bit boring. I try and go every sunday, I try and listen and fallow whats going on. Sometimes I fall a sleep. I dont want to. What should I do?

First, don't buy the lie that anyone can enjoy the things you mention and not suffer consequences from doing it. All the sinful things you mention carry baggage that's hard to discard. Sex before marriage can lead to unwanted pregnancy, std's and more insipid things like emotional scars that are hard to rid yourself of. Pornography can be addictive and can warp your veiw of what sex is supposed to be: the holy union of a man and wife.
What to do? Resist the temptaion. Flee from it andinstead, get active in your church. Find places God can use you to bless others and you'll be surprised at how often you'll recieve a blessing yourself.
Prepare yourself for these temptations each day by reading the bible before you go to school or work, and meditating on all the things Godhas blessed you with so far.

Have you ever heard the old saying of idle hands are the devils workshop? Well it is true. When you are idle, you can think of " fun " things you could be doing, but if you are busy, or working, or doing other things that keep you occupied, then you do not have time for such sinful things of the world. If you are reading the scripture, and immersing yourself in the study of the Bible, you will not have the time, nor the desire for such things. If you are on this forum, reading and learning, and replying to the threads, you will not be spending your time doing those " fun " things. The idea is to turn yourself over to Christ, and you will find fun in other things. Becoming active in a ACTIVE church is very rewarding. The problem most people have in this area is not knowing when they are in a dead church. I was in a dead church and it took a word from the Lord for me to see that. I received a word that it was time for me to "move" and find a new "Home". I did, and I discovered what a true church alive in Christ really was. Now, I love going to church. I am learning a lot, and I listen to every word on Sunday mornings and I even take notes. My wife and I have a Tuesday night Bible study at our home, and we meet in "cell" groups at other members homes on Sunday nights, to fellowship and have Bible Study. We also have Wednesday night activities. I really love learning about the Lord, and that is what brought me to this part of the HNI Forums. I wanted to learn and fellowship with other belivers, even more than I already do. Give the Lord an honest chance, and He will prove to be more addicting and "fun"than anything else out there.
All the replies are great. I tend to think with grasshoppers idea. I get up before work and do some preventative maintenance...
My wife and sons are not doing the best they can. Their struggles with work and life often cause them to get an attitude thus making bad choices. So about 7 :00 AM everyday I'll say ok folks..time for the Word...anybody want to hear the Word?? They just look at me. Matt might say, "sure dad....hold on." Lyn hollars out from the next room ..ok I'm coming.
Then I find an encouraging chapter and read. After we read then we are all ready to pray. So far the days we put God first they have been decent days. The days we neglet to pray have not been so good.
I have learned to ask God to take the love of the world from my heart, to do my job through me, to teach me how to be a true disciple of Christ, Jesus did not intend for us to walk this Christian walk alone. John 16 says He has sent the comforter to work with us. He has given us His living Word to hide in our hearts so that we might not sin against him.
The bottom line..We must love God more than sin.

You do not find fun in sharing fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters? Do you not find fun in helping others? Do you not find it fun to help spread the Word?
I would rather have "fun" doing the above than spending eternity in a firey lake. As mentioned above you must love God more than "fun". Peace and Grace my Brother

There you go. All these guys have given great responses. There is much "fun" to be had as a faithful Christian. Doing all kinds of things in a pure and holy way. What about hunting? And planning for hunting? And reading about hunting? And setting up stands for hunting? And, I could go on and on! I love my life and find joy in every aspect of my life in the Lord.
You know, God recognizes that sin is "fun" and He says so in Hebrews 11:24-25 "By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh"™s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.
But the Bible also tells us of the happiness of serving God, "And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD;It shall rejoice in His salvation." Psalm 35:9

Hmm . . drinking too much . . .you mean like laying in your own puke and psorosis of the liver or killing your best friend in a car wreck?
Porn . . .you mean getting off on folk that are being forced to degrade themselves for your enjoyment. You mean like little kids that are subjected to this stuff as in watching their mothers prostitute themselves, or in some cases the kids are used in the porn industry?
Sex before marriage . . .you mean like knocking your girlfriend up and then realizing that she's not the one you want to be with. Or getting your girlfriend pregnant and then all of a sudden find out that the baby is going to need serious medical attention because it was born with lukemia or some other thing that you don't have the money or the insurance to provide?
Yeah, maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones . . .you've always been real lucky hav'nt you????

Yep, listen to mac. I for one have learned the hard way things that make you happy today, can make you very sad tomorrow. My young friend, I would like to save you from all the trouble of these sins and the sadness you are going to get from them later in life, but I feel the only way you will understand them is to go thru them, and pay the price in full one day, and can think back on this post and understand.
In fact, these sins you mention, will probably have part in the breaking of you, and without being broken, you cannot have revival of your soul.
